Wed, 11 Feb 2004 23:31:47 -0500 A very useful Urdu – Hindi guide to Media and Public at an affordable Price. URDU-HINDI GUIDE (A Reference Manual of commonly used Urdu Words and their Hindi equivalent - in English and Devanagri alphabets) Conceived by: Shri Mohan lal Gupta Compiled by: P. DeivamuthuEditor, Hindu Voice. PREFACE We are pleased to bring out this URDU-HINDI GUIDE (A Reference Manual of commonly used Urdu Words and their Hindi equivalent - in English and Devanagri alphabets). The Guide is the brainchild of Shri Mohan Lal Gupta, who is interested in preserving and promoting Bharatiya culture and our National language. Nowadays even educated people in Bharat, knowingly or unknowingly, use Urdu words, although equivalent Hindi words are available. Some even take false pride in using English and Urdu words, instead of pure Hindi. They have a false notion that using Urdu and English words is a sign of sophistication and higher education. In Hindi films, it is very rare to hear pure Hindi. Much of the words are of Urdu. Although the film is in Hindi language, the title and other details are mentioned in English and Urdu languages. This is nothing but belittling our National language. Some may do it out of ignorance, and a few others with a purpose. In order to help them and to give Hindi its rightful place, we have ventured into this project. The commonly used Urdu word are mentioned in English alphabets (and in Devanagri), and the equivalent Hindi word are given in Devanagri (and also in English alphabets). We hope this Guide will be found most useful by media persons, authors, writers, publishers, and even by common people, who are searching the right Hindi words for their works. The Urdu-Hindi Guide is preceded by a few articles written by Shri Gupta. As this is a maiden effort of its kind, there will be a lot of room for improvement. Suggestions from readers are always welcome, which will be considered while working on the 2nd edition of this Guide. - Editors ============= URDU-HINDI GUIDE (A Reference Manual of commonly usedUrdu Words and their Hindi equivalent- in English and Devanagri alphabets) CONTENTS Preface 3 ARTICLES, by Shri Mohanlal Gupta 1. Bharat (India), as we know today, is plagued by pseudo-secular poisons which have entered into the Hindu mainstream thinking and have corrupted the minds as well as weakened the Hindus from within. Hindu Voice seeks to achieve what the mainstream media - Indian as well as International - has failed to, which is to give a voice to the views and opinions of the Hindus. The aim of our publication is to expose the truth behind the drapes, behind the curtains and shutters. It will assert the Hindu mind and reach in deep and shatter the false walls that have been built around it and allow one to see the truth. Hindu Voice will report the latest news events that affect Hindus in India and worldwide, introduce thought-provoking articles and seek to educate its readers. The magazine is printed from Mumbai, India in English and Hindi. Hindu Voice Team.
