Jailed Marxist leader finds peace in Harinama samkirtana.

 

Dulal Bandopadhyay, a Marxist leader from Dumdum, Kolkata is now in the Alipore

Central Jail. He is serving a life sentence for murdering two young men in 2002.

Ramapada Bhattacharya, superintendent of this jail, reports that Mr. Bandopahyay

and about 100 other inmates are singing at the top of their voice and dancing

with Harinama twice a day, everyday. Mr. Bandopadhyay says, “I am and will

remain a Marxist. But I am finding a lot of peace in Harinama. Therefore, we are

chanting everyday”.
