Guest guest
Hare Krishna ! Sri Sri Guru and Gauranga ki jaya ! Dear Devotees, Please accept my humble obeisances. I am trying to encourage the formation of support groups among Gaudiya Vaishnava devotees of the kshatriya nature. If you are interested, please contact me. Active service in a military branch will not be required. I am using the broad meaning of the term to indicate a certain noble self-sacrificing and brave nature that manifests in the desire to protect others and to uphold dharma. A kshatriya is a DHARMA PROTECTOR and savior / rescuer by nature. Why is there no mutual support group for Gaudiya Vaishnava Kshatriyas ? Rescuers and protectors of all kinds face unique challenges in today's world. Being disciples of Srila Prabhupada, or other Gaudiya Vaishnava Gurus, gives us kshatriya-types certain astras with which to meet the battles of our day-to-day existance, as we try to serve Godhead, Guru and humanity. We have also been wounded in various ways from others both within and without the Hare Krishna Movement. There are also conflicts of interest we sometimes face, and unique challenges to fullfilling our dharma, and satisfying our inherent nature through vocation. Our 'significant others', wives and children also need the support of a Vaishnava community that understands their military or intervention-driven 'on-duty' called-up-to-serve lifestyle. I can understand why many Kshatriyas would not want to communicate some of their private thoughts and difficulties in a public forum like this one, but I know you guys (and gals too) are out there, and that you have some very real and unique needs. We need therefore to create an appropriate forum for your needs. You could benefit from Krishna Conscious ministering to eachother. The association of like- minded devotees is very important to our spiritual advancement. Kshatriyas face life-and-death and moral dilemmas not often encountered by non-combatants, or the safe and secure majority of the developed nations. For instance, soldiers, search-and-rescue, police, prison guards, border patrol, firefighters, EMTs, hazmat responders/ bomb squads, undercover agents/ intelligence officers, security officers, etc. face the possibility of life threatening situations arising every time they are on duty. These dangers often 'follow them home' as well. While the rest of society enjoys the peace and freedom maintained by the kshatriyas' sacrifices, kshatriyas are often misunderstood and disrespected by the very people they sacrifice themselves daily to protect and rescue. This is a heavy burden for many. For these and other reasons, it is healthy for those in these 'kshatriya' walks of life to have the mutual understanding and support of their peers. Among devotees in the Hare Krishna Movement, there are persons of the kshatriya nature. Srila Prabhupada did not say 'keep them out !' No. Srila Prabhupada said "establish varnashram dharma". This goal cannot be accomplished without kshatriyas !!! However, Kshatriyas have not, in my opinion, received the encouragement and cultivation in our society that they should have. This has resulted in a lack of dharmic kshatriya leadership in the movement. A real kshatriya IS A DHARMA PROTECTOR. A God-devoted kshatriya is the friend of all beings and a protector of the law- abiding and helpless. A nobel kshatriya is a leader who administrates the social body for the dharmic welfare of all. How can we establish Daiva Varnashram Dharma without raising up and empowering such noble leaders in our midst ? In the absense of such authentic, godly leaders / dharma protectors, ambitious persons of mundane immorality will always take over. Let us therefore create a mutual support association for dharma protectors in our Vaishnava society, and in doing so, let us raise up leaders fit to lead us into a more just and benevolent social order tomorrow ! aspiring to serve the kshatriyas in our society, in fulfilling Srila Prabhupada's instruction to establish varnashram dharma, Bhakti ananda Goswami
Guest guest
HARE KRISHNA ! SRI SRI GURU AND GAURANGA KI JAYA ! DEAR BHAKTA TRAVELER, AS I HAVE JUST EXPERIANCED UNPLEASANT DIFFICULTIES ON MY TWO HARE KRISHNA WORLD FORUMS, FROM SOMEONE WRITING WITH ALIASES, WHO SAYS PRETTY MUCH EXACTLY THE SAME THINGS IN THE SAME WAYS THAT YOU DO, I HAVE DECIDED NOT TO ENGAGE IN ANY ONGOING DIALOGUE WITH YOU. UNFORTUNATELY THE PERSON FORCED US TO BAN HIS POSTS AFTER MONTHS OF RUDELY ABUSING HIS POSTING PRIVILAGES, AND BEING REQUESTED TO STOP IT, TO NO AVAIL. THEN THE FORUMS WERE HACKED AND I WAS REMOVED BY THE HACKER AS THE MODERATOR OF MY TWO FORUMS. SINCE YOU SOUND EXACTLY LIKE THIS FELLOW, WHO ALSO CHALLENGED ME OVER THE KSHATRIYA NATURE IN SOCIETIES, I WILL NOT ENTER INTO AN ONGOING DIALOGUE WITH YOU. YOU ARE OF COURSE FREE TO OFFER A MINISTRY TO KSHATRIYAS ACCORDING TO YOUR OWN CONCEPTION. I HAVE DEFINED THE KSHATRIYA-NATURED DEVOTEES WHO I THINK SHOULD CREATE THEIR OWN MUTUAL SUPPORT GROUPS. SUCH GROUPS WOULD HELP TO STRENGTHEN THEM BOTH INDIVIDUALLY AND COLLECTIVELY IN THEIR SERVICE TO SRI SRI GURU, GAURANGA AND THE VAISHNAVA SOCIETY, AND HUMANITY IN GENERAL. THE WORLD DESPERATELY NEEDS NOBLE, MORAL, GOD-CONSCIOUS KSHATRIYAS. THE VEDIC KINGS WERE NOT THE ONLY KSHATRIYAS IN THE SCRIPTURES. THEY HAD COMPANIONS AND FOLLOWERS AND WHOLE ARMIES OF KSHATRIYAS. THE SOLDIERS AND GREAT PERSONALITIES WHO OPPOSED SRI KRISHNA AND THE PANDAVAS WERE CALLED KSHATRIYAS. IN THE PURANAS THE WARRIORS OF THE ASURAS WERE ALSO CALLED KSHATRIYAS. THUS THE PURANIC USE OF THE TERM KSHATRIYA IS NOT SYNONYMOUS WITH DEVOTEE KING OR DEVA. ORIGINALLY IN THE VEDIC HYMN PURUSHA SUKTA, THE KSHATRIYAS WERE THE PROTECTING ARMS OF THE SOCIAL BODY OF THE SELF-SACRIFICED PURUSHA. YOU HAVE A CONCOCTED PERSONAL NON-VEDIC CONCEPTION OF KSHATRIYAS, JUST LIKE THE PERSON WHO HARRASSED ME ABOUT THIS SUBJECT ON THE HARE KRISHNA WORLD FORUMS. THEREFORE I WISH YOU WELL, BUT DO NOT WANT TO BE ASSOCIATED WITH YOU THROUGH CONTINUED CORRESPONDANCE, AS I CONSIDER YOUR ATTITUDE OFFENSIVE TO MANY MANY DEDICATED KSHATRIYA DEVOTEES OF THE LORD. YOU APPARENTLY HAVE NO RESPECT FOR SANNYASIS EITHER, SO I SIMPLY PRAY THAT SRI SRI GURU AND GAURANGA WILL FILL YOU WITH DIVINE LOVE, AND CURE WHATEVER IS AILING YOUR FAULT-FINDING, ATTACKING-MODE SOUL. Guest guest
All glories to Srila Prabhupada Dear Bhakta Ananda Gosvami; Again my comments are in large bold letters below for your convenience. CB. (So because you had previous exchanges that were challenging you quit this one?) UNFORTUNATELY THE PERSON FORCED US TO BAN HIS POSTS AFTER MONTHS OF RUDELY ABUSING HIS POSTING PRIVILAGES, AND BEING REQUESTED TO STOP IT, TO NO AVAIL. CB. (Accused by similar circumstances to being that same person? Condemned because of apparent like mindedness? You will see my name CATURBAHU DASA BHAKTI at the bottom of my post to you. I do not hide, I am bigger than life in your face. So now quit.) YOU ARE OF COURSE FREE TO OFFER A MINISTRY TO KSHATRIYAS ACCORDING TO YOUR OWN CONCEPTION. CB. (Yes, this would be nice to converce on the particulars of this varna with like minded individuals.) THE WORLD DESPERATELY NEEDS NOBLE, MORAL, GOD-CONSCIOUS KSHATRIYAS. CB. (Yes, I concur mostly. But in terms of abilities in this varna there was a vast difference from the King to the foot soldier in range of capability. The soldier was less intelligent than the King and his service was simpler, though in a general way the same. Why no quote or reference from Srila Prabhupada explaining this above concepts only other sources?) YOU HAVE A CONCOCTED PERSONAL NON-VEDIC CONCEPTION OF KSHATRIYAS, JUST LIKE THE PERSON WHO HARRASSED ME ABOUT THIS SUBJECT ON THE HARE KRISHNA WORLD FORUMS. CB. (At lest you could give some particular example to discuss. Or give me a chance to reclassify. What have I said that is non-Vedic? If this type of thing repeatedly happens, maybe you should be more introspective about it and stop running from the reoccurrence. Though I say with all honesty it was not me on the other form, like I said I have no need to hide from you or deceive you for some harassing enjoyment.) THEREFORE I WISH YOU WELL, BUT DO NOT WANT TO BE ASSOCIATED WITH YOU THROUGH CONTINUED CORRESPONDANCE, AS I CONSIDER YOUR ATTITUDE OFFENSIVE TO MANY MANY DEDICATED KSHATRIYA DEVOTEES OF THE LORD. CB. (If there are so many dedicated ksatriyas of the Lord out there then why is there no funtioning vedic social culture in the associatioon of ISKCON or other devotees? Maybe the brahmanas are still usurping the ksatriyas position on the pretense of a contrived emergencey even after 30 years. How pray tell did I ofend devotee ksatriyas? You mean homosex or that some are less inteligent?) YOU APPARENTLY HAVE NO RESPECT FOR SANNYASIS EITHER, CB.(I must say I have had my fill of cheaters in the guise of wholly men. You are the one that took my first two inquiries wrong and did not bother yourself with the possibility of a mistake on your part like a common person, not elevated. So respect should be mutual as well as selective by varna and asrama. Show me sannyasis by guna and karma and I will show respect consummate with that standard. You fight like the ksatriya you say you are. Immediate flamage in the mode of passion. So far I do not see sannyasis. Demanding is less than commanding. No qualities? No respect!) SO I SIMPLY PRAY THAT SRI SRI GURU AND GAURANGA WILL FILL YOU WITH DIVINE LOVE, AND CURE WHATEVER IS AILING YOUR FAULT-FINDING, ATTACKING-MODE SOUL. CB. (Typical ISKCON retort. To question is to offend and fault find. Even if part of my job is to observe anomalies in society. The cheaters want free rain to deceive as much as possible, then reap respectful rewards and monetary benefits from others by there hard labor and return zilch in the way of ministry to the congregation as a social whole.) WISHING YOU PEACE AND PREMA, ASPIRING TO SERVE ALL THE DEVOTEES OF THE LORD, BHAKTI ANANDA GOSWAMI Thank you, Hare Krsna.
