Sri Krishna Parabrahmane namaha!

Jeeyar Thiruvadigale saranam!

Madhura bhakthi is the means for attaining Lord. Here gopikas’ love for Krishna

is quite evident. Generally we see people renouncing many things for their

lovers’ sake.

In madhura bhakthi also we see the same. But it is ‘vishaya vairagyam’. Raasa

Panchaadhyaayi proves this. Raasa Leela is described in five chapters. This

illustrates and establishes the ‘madhura bhakthi’ that explains secrets of

Upanishads. Here the whole thing happens due to madhura bhakthi only. We can

learn the inner Upanishad secrets from this.

Gopikas are the women who did not go to Krishna with lust. They were not

without the tathva jnana. Their jnanam turned into madhura bhakthi. When the

jnana ripens and blossoms into practice, it is bhakthi. When the inner jnana

turns into love it comes out. Then the union of jiva and paramathma takes place.

It may appear like the normal behaviour. We should carefully know the facts.

‘PraNavam’ states that - ji:va belongs to and is for Bhagavan only. When this

meaning gets fixed in the mind of ji:va by God’s grace, then the other

connections get severed. The Bhagavath swarupam installs in the mind. Manas gets

attracted towards Bhagavan. This episode is being described here.

The vraja ladies heard to the anangavardhana Ve:Nu gaanam. Krishna occupied

their minds and was pulling them towards Him. All of them were going in the

direction of Krishna not realizing the presence of others who were all going

with them. As they were walking fast, their eardrops were swinging. Some gopikas

who were milking the cows just left the task like that and started. Some gopikas

who were boiling milk in the pots left them there on the fire and walked away.

Some who were serving food for their husbands walked out. Some mothers who were

feeding their babies, went off leaving them on the floor. Some ladies who were

serving their husbands ran out.

It is not just leaving the task they were doing or leaving the service they were

rendering to their near and dear. Those gopikas who were taking meals left

their plates and went. All those who were decorating themselves with ‘eyetex’

and other things, just started out as they were, the moment their ears caught

the ‘veNu gaanam’. All were walking fast. In the hurry some wore their ornaments

wrongly. Some wore their saries up side down.

This VeNu gaana mystifies and makes them forget every thing else. It makes

them forget their subsistence and their make up. This is the behaviour of

persons who know perfectly well the meaning of ‘u- kaara’ in the praNavam. u =

(ae: )alone; Aa = Krishna. It means for Krishna’s sake. Alone (ae: ) = For

Krishna alone. When the jna:na that I am for Krishna alone – dawned on them,

they moved away from their husbands and children. Not only that! They reached

an extent that they did think it necessary to serve their selves even.
