Guest guest
ViSwam (star-aSwini) - viSati iti viSwam = The one who enters. Divya Prabandham : PeriyALwAr Tirumozhi 5-2-10 The supreme Lord has entered our hearts along with His serpent bed Adi SESha, along with the beautiful milky ocean, along with our divine mother and His great devotees. Sri ViSNu CittA is praising that benevolent Lord amidst the sounds of the waves in the milky ocean, for protecting his body. Interpretation of viSwam with the poem : 1) Along with the bed, SESha : O Lord, you have entered my heart along with your serpent bed, AdiSESha. You get the name viSwam purely due to this reason. It is because of the love we have towards Sri AdiSESha, who is none other than our Sri Bhagavad Ramanuja. (Our kUrattALwAn had to bear the seperation from you in SriRangam, as the seperation from our Ramanuja was more painful for him). 2) Along with the beautiful milky ocean : I am calling you by the name viShwam purely for the reason that you have entered my heart along with the beautiful milky ocean. This ocean is extremely dear to me as it is the birth place of our mother SrI. It is the place where we get infinite love, care and honour. 3) Along with our mother : Our mother is there along with you. It is giving us extreme happiness. (Probably, we couldn’t have been so happy if you alone were present, without our mother.) This happiness is making us dance with joy. 4) Along with devotees: You have entered my heart along with all the devotees who keep singing your glories. This is giving me unthinkable and inexplicable joy. (To be continued...) Jai Sriman Narayana | Maruthi Pavan Ramanuja Dasa |
