Guest guest
Namaskaram to all members, 1. What is the importance of naming children after Rasis? Who can help us name our children? 2. Why are they different Rasis for different people (North India, South India etal)? 3. Why were so many calenders? Which Vedic calender should we follow? 4. If we start a karyam and doing it as a Bhagavat/Acharya Kainkaryam, do we still have to look for good time? Guest guest
Priya Sriman ! Children were not named basing on Rasis but, they will be named according to the star at the time of the birth of the child. This can be known from any calender. Each star will have 4 Padas and there will be 9 Padas per Rasi. So when a child is born the exact pada of the Nakshatra that is being passed then is taken along with the name of the nakshatra. For each nakshatra, a few syllables are allotted. Usually the probable syllable will be the starting syllable of the name of the child. Or that probable syllable is included in the name of the person. The future of the child depends upon the star and time and place, when and where the child was born. For the betterment of life, those significant syllables were allotted. You may send the star, time, place and gender of the child born and a suitable name will be suggested. 2) Rasis are not different for North, South or else. Rasis and the number of Rasis, stars, tithis are fixed and are common everywhere except for few minor differences in timings of local calenders. When a child is born, that nakshatra with corresponding pada is taken and the Rasi corresponding to it is considered for speculation. 3) Basing on the movement of planets, moon, sun earth, these timings are calculated. Deep South Indians follow Sun and hence we get solar calenders, whereas Karnataka, Andhra etc., the middle of India follow Moon, the Lunar calender. North side some follow Sun and some follow moon and some follow Jupiter. All are right. There is nothing wrong. Timings vary according to the local place calculations and position of that place corresponding to the planet's position. Whatever it be, it is better to follow the calender what our ancestors followed. We mainly follow Lunar Calender. 4) Even if you are doing Bhagavad, Bhagavatha kainkaryam, when we are confined to so many constraints by this nature we need to follow good time for doing good things. Movements of planets is all arranged by Lord for us. You have to follow the ordnance of God in following time etc. We should follow to the extent we can applying our thought and intelligence according to our elders.
