Guest guest
With your permission Tat twam asi, I would like to add Guru is not a person. Gurutva is a quality- the quality of guiding. Not everyone can become a guru, or needs to become a guru. Being a guru is a pravriti (trait) of sharing knowledge - in this case spiritual knowledge. It is also possible that guru as a person may himself not be accomplished - but he can guide the student in the right direction. As they say - a true leader is one who guides his follower to become better than himself. If you also look back at your teachers , you would see that you have out grown some of them in the subjects they taught you. And they would never be jealous. We should not look to find faults with the guru - as the guru cannot be a perfect human being. Only god will be a perfect human being :-).
