Fpyk news letter March 2006

Yogasana Visharada Vidwan K.Pattabhi Jois and Padmasri B.K.S.

Iyengar are together since ages and are teaching yoga all over the

world. Both of them have a large number of followers. Though they

are together, their students are still apart and try to have a

separate identity. Every student of yoga should see NAMARUPA

Magazine, Issue 4, the cover page. Sri K.Pattabhi Jois and Sri

B.K.S. Iyengar may be teaching yoga with a different technique but

they are teaching YOGA only.

There are some groups and organizations even trying to control the

people interested in learning and practicing yoga and also teaching

yoga according to their ideas. A strange idea!

Ashtanga style, Iyengar style, Kripalu style, Sivananda style etc

are mere a trade name of the technique. The students should

understand this and open their eyes. They should respect every

technique followed by different teachers to help the students to

learn and practice yoga. No technique is superior; neither inferior.

Each has its own use and benefit. So also, every teacher is great in

his/her own way. The students may practice yoga adopting different

techniques but should never forget that the ultimate goal of their

practice of yoga is enlightenment and liberation.

*********

If you do a mistake, do not worry. You can correct that mistake.

People do mistake knowingly or unknowingly. But do not repeat the

same mistake again and again. `Accept your mistake.'

Before you blame others for their mistake think whether you have

done the same mistake or not.

Humanism is my philosophy. Humanity is my religion. Human beings are

my gods and goddesses. Their dwellings are my temple, church, mosque
