Guest guest
The most formidable moments at Kurukshetra, when Arjuna puts away his weapons and declare" I will not fight with my dear ones… for a piece of land"……..these words of Arjuna may be in tune with Budhistic philosophy…. Or with the views of the common public who thinks it to be a noble work to be non-violent even in the face of opposition. Even now I have seen around me, in groups, in office in society, people take a spiritual person to be a coward, inactive, and an impotent in guise of peace and sadhna !! But the God does not think so!! Krishna does not ask Arjuna to be a non-violent,and coward. HE does not confirm Arjuna's views…he does not accept his plea that killing nears and dears for a piece of land is wrong. So while showing him his VirAt swaroop …his world-form, He says Kalo-asmi Lokakshyakrit pravdhho….. …nimittamatram BhavaSavyasachin I am the Kaal, the Time who waste and destroy the peoples; lo I have arisen in my might, I am here to swallow up the nations. Even without thee all they shall not be, the men of war who stand arrayed in the opposing armies. Therefore, do thou arise and get thee great glory, conquer thy foes and enjoy a great and wealthy empire. For these, they were slain even before and it is I who have slain them; be the occasion only O Arjuna !! Can we that Mahakaal working, in the face of hitlers, ladens, bushs, Islamic militants…tsunamis, earthquakes and wars? The greatness of this teaching is for the greats. Those who are commissioned to bring mighty changes…are taken over by this Mahakaal. Kali enters in them and when She enters into a man cares nothing for rationality and morality and possibility. It is not accident that she works in one man more than in another… that she gives power to the cruel…and makes his subjects helpless and weak. One is chosen because he is likely tool and having chosen him she neither rejects him till the purpose is fulfilled not allows him to reject her. Thus Krishna tells arjuna:- Yadahamkarmashritya na yotasya iti manyse Mithyesha vyavsayaste praktistvam niyokshyati The thought which you think and take refuge in egoism saying "I will not fight" this thy resolve is a vain thing; nature will yoke thee to thy work And when Kali's work is over….the tool is rejected and thrown into the dustbin of time…only results remain. So when I see the cruelties of terrorists, the wars of nations, natural calamities…I do not tend to hate or reject them and see Mother Kali in her workings…and remember Tagore's poem Thank God I am not one of your wheels of tyranny….thanks to you I am the one who is crushed under it.
