Guest guest
The question of evil is one that has taxed human thought and evolved various and conflicting solutions. For a rationalist, the problem does not exist, because he does not believe in any thing which is non-matter. For a rationalist, everything is in Nature, who is blind and uncontrolled and does what ever it likes under certain unknown laws. The religions and philosophies pondered over the question for years but could not possibly solve this mystery, as to how an All loving God, A "Sarvamanglam" owner of the universe could create Evil or if he has not created it, why he permits Evil to work on his subjects. Some religions, which were lacking the philosophical research, and which emerged only to teach the newly evolved human, took a short- cut to the problem. They divided the Supreme Existence into two equal forces God and Satan. God as the Principal of good and Satan as the Principal of the evil. But this philosophy is a childish solution to a great problem and it may satisfy a nouveau sadhaka, but this theory will be straightaway rejected by any one who is a real sadhaka of the Truth !! Those who believe in the existence of an intelligent evil power as superstition, find the origin of evil in man who abuses his freedom and by his revolt and self-will gives birth to the sin and evil. This solution also solves nothing, for it does not explain why there should have been a possibility of evil at all ? If we say God is the only entity in the universe and beyond, then we have to presume, all things are created by him. It implies evil was also created by him. So why should all loving god, the father of all living beings should create an entity which troubles his children more than anything. Why he created such a thing as sin and evil, which drags the progressing soul backwards. Why did evil come into existence and what is its purpose in our journey towards Truth?? A point worth pondering!! With love baba
