Guest guest
Dear Babaji, "duality" between "god" and "devotee" is core foundation of devotion.Unless devotion has duality of "you are "my" god" and " i am "your"devotee" the devotion is impossible. In devotion there are nine types of devotion. They are called as "navavidha" bhakti. When the devotee leaves everything including his destiny to that particular god he loved ,the devotee finds that everything is happening miraculasly wonderful. He takes the problems in life as if they are sent by his god to test him, every solutions he face in his life ,he takes them as help from his beloved god,all moments in the life he chains (includes) his beloved god and find that all the worries in the life are gone and his beloved god is taking always care of him. This devotee always remain in pleasant state,After and because of this the devotee comes to understand that the everything is "leela" play of his god, he starts surrendering fully to his god for everything he gets materially and spiritulaly. Since the devotee is worshiping a particular form, and he experince the existance of his beloved god.The devotee offers best food he is having, best clothes, best place in home, the highest offering to the god is the devotee also offers his heart to that god,so that the devotee is in fully surrendered to his beloved god. Then since evreything is surrendered to the god, nothing remains with the devotee as material as well as spiritual to surrender to his beloved god. This the extreme devotion. The devotee becomes begger of his god. Now this devotee knows that his god takes care of him and he has nothing to ask for something. The god starts taking care of him. Under this situation the devotee has devine power with him, which helps him to suffer the karmic effect (not to erase karmic effects)The devotee takes them as if its gods gifts. beggers or slaves naturally give thanks to their masters,it is not at all un naturall. Becoming begger of a god is very very higher position in spirituality. Lord shri Hanuman is best example of true slave devoton of lord Shri Rama. This is "sagunawith form" bhakti. Those who worship "Saguna" and "nirguna" at the same time gets none of this, they remain inbetween and get confused about direction of their spiritual progress. The thanks obviously come out and thats natural outcome from the devotee. --- Baba ji <beirut_ka_baba wrote: (you gave me different ways of sadhna and such body which is rare ..what a kindness of yours !!!) Guest guest
I am refering to the book which we read everyday in our sampraday "Dasbodh" by Lord shri Samartha "Ramdas"swami, the incarnation of "Lord shri Hanuman". He has mentioned in that book nine types of bhakti. In fact the examples themselves are enough which are named in your posting. 1.Shravan Bhakti = Lord Shri Ramdas Swamiji says Doing Shravan (listening) Bhakti clarifies doubts about god, thus the devotion and love in god improves. Here is what is written in his book partly, He says what is Shravan Bhakti?, It is to Listen which are the routes are available for liberation, karma marg, Upasana Marg, Dnyan Marg, Gurubhakti Marg, Yogmarg, Vairagyamarg,to listen about everything. To Listen about the wonderfull things in the world, how people do their sadhana, like some only on milk, some only on water, some only on grass, panchamakari, aghori, kapalik,, To listen about mudras, bhuchari,Khechari, chachri,Agochari, Shanmukhi,Mahamudra, Shambhavi what are they, He says Lord shri shiva could get success in "shambavi"mudra, therefore his name has been given to this mudra. To listen what are the chakras,,then anatomy of human, animals, 21 heavens, 7 patals, what and how are the places of brahma, vishnu, mahesh, indra, gods, rishis, vayu, varun ,kuber ,astha dikpals, To listen about 14 bhuvansa, yaksha, gandharva, so many mantras, good and bad times,32 lakshans, 64 vidyas,64 kalas To listen what is "bhutjaya",what are the ashta sidhdhis, anima, garima, laghima, mahima, prapti, prakamya, ishitva, vashita, yatrakamayasayitva. To listen which are the three doshas, vata kafa pitta, how to control them, how to use them what are the timings the are effective?, To listen about hell, heaven ,what is rourav, what is kumbhipak, what is yamaloka, what is sukha in heaven, To listen what is "rigveda=pradnyanam brahma, "Yajurveda=Aham brahmasmi", "Samaveda=Tatvamasi","Atharva veda=Ayamatma Brahma",the four master quotation of vedas?, To listen what are the four bodies of pinda=sthula, sukshma,Karana and mahakaran. To listen what is saguna and what is nirguna. To listen the doing the avataras, There is still more, but in totallity "samartha" says shravan bhakti is to listen and gain knowledge of the fundamentals of reaching towards godliness. The fundamentals are proper then it makes the mindset good for devotion and thus devotion results into godliness. I shall try to translate about other bhaktis in other mails. --- Tatwamasi <tatwamasi wrote: > > For those interested in the academic aspect of > Navavidha Bhakti,
