Namaste _/\_ all.

Here is a 'pada' from 'Dainya Madhuri' of 'Prema Rasa Madira' by

Jagadguru Sri Kripaluji Maharaj. This kirtana has been set in a

heart-melting tune by Maharaj ji. Devotees sing this 'pada' with

their melodious love-filled faltering voice and tearful eyes.

An impatient Raga-anuga devotee is fervently

praying to his Lord Beloved, revealing his

true feelings of 'greed' for Divine Love:

darasa kaba deyihau nanda-kishor?

O My sweet Lord,

O Adolescent Boy of Nanda Maharaja, the Cowherd King!

When would you make me eligible for bestowing the

benediction of Your Divine vision upon me?

I am anxious for that fortunate moment

and eagerly waiting for Your Grace!

Please be quick, my Dear!

lakhi ghana zyAma ghana nacihahi kabai mora mana-mor?

When would You make my enchanted mind quiver and

dance like a rapturous peacock in ecstasy visualizing

Your transcendental beauty and charm resembling

the rain-filled, thick, dark clouds?

kabai dRgancala cancala cancala, lakhihahu hamariha vor?

O Well known naughty Womanizer!

When would You flirtingly look at me too turning

Your restless sidelong glances towards my side

for a moment at least?

"kadA karISyasIha mAM kRpA kaTAkSa bhAjanam?"

- The Refrain of 'Sri Radha-Kripa-Kataksha Stotra'.

kaba leyihau citacora mora hu, brajavanitani cita-cor?

When, tell me exactly how soon O Stealer of Gopi's hearts,

would You plunder my tender heart too with extreme delight?

kaba brajavAsini dAsina dAsina, dAsI banihau tor?

Now, tell me one last thing, when would You kindly accept me

and my loving service making me just an insignificant

humble servant of the blessed maid-servant of Your intimate

Cowherdess, the eternal dweller of Your Divine Abode, Brajadhama?

Sri Radha-Avatar Caitanya Mahaprabhu has also prayed:

nAhaM vipro na ca nara-patir nApi vaizyo na zUdro

nAhaM varNI na ca gRha-patir no vana-stho yatir vA

kintu prodyan nikhila-paramAnanda-pUrNAmRtAbdher

gopI-bhartuH pada-kamalayor dAsa-dAsAnudAsaH

- padyAvalI. 63

"I am not a learned brahmana,

nor a men-ruling kshatriya

nor a business man like the vaisya,

nor am I a meager servant like the sudra.

I do not belong among the different

social classes of varnas, neither

am I a married householder grihastha,

nor a retired vanaprastha

nor a renounced sannyasi.

But I am simply a loving follower of

the servant-maid of the servants of the Lord

Whose lotus feet are the sole sustainer of

the blessed cowherd maidens, and Who is the

Supreme nectarine ocean of Divine bliss!"

kaba 'kRpAlu' tanu sudhi bisarai haum, hvai rasa prema vibhor?

In the concluding verse, the intensely greedy and restless Poet-Saint

is lamenting:

O My Divine Beloved! Please let me know if You would ever drown me

in Your intoxicating nectar of Divine Love so that the consciousness

of my body, my mind, my intellect and ego would be totally forgotten

and lost in Divine bliss?

Jaya Sri Radhey!
