Guest guest
Be a Butterfly Dadi Janki - GRC Morning Class - European Teachers Retreat - 13/8/05 The accurate method to have good wishes, is first to have good wishes for your own self. Make a list of good thoughts for your self. On the path of knowledge it is the law that you whatever you do, you will definitely receive the return of that. If I do that which God wants I will receive a very good return. It is amazing how time and time again, we let ourselves get so bogged down by our wrong way of thinking. Instead we could be like butterflies - beautiful, light, able to flutter and fly high. Then those down below would be simply left gazing - saying 'wow, how did she do that.' God tell such beautiful things with us, but we become dismissive. We sometimes laugh it of or think it's all too much. We think, all this time I have not been able to practically do what I have heard and so what's the point of continuing to listen. There is this type of feebleness and yet we are supposed to be an army! We are the ones who along with God are silently establishing the New World with the power of Peace. It is as if people in the world today are living in a jail, whereas all of realized God's children have the happiness that we live in a fortress. For people of the world it is as if- they have no freedom- they do as their own nature dictates, they do what others (bodily beings) dictate. When we don't get on with someone we will avoid them. We avoid being in the same place as them or doing the same things as them. It is our subtle stubbornness and in doing so we sometimes miss out on things that could benefit us. This is a very bad sanskara (habit) to have - the sanskara of not getting on with someone. We have to be able to get on with one another. When there is faith and intoxication we can remain beyond all the things down here. People get drunk to forget their sorrows. A faithful intellect is sensible and wise. "Why has this happened? How is this going to happen?" No need to think like this. Have faith: Everything that happens is fixed in the drama. God is the One who does everything anyway. A faithful intellect even has the power to stop the doubts of others. When we say Haji (Yes) to everything God asks of us, then God also becomes ever present for us. He is so obedient, so faithful. We get caught up in other things though and don't call God. Just say "My God" and your boat will go across. When I don't have anyone else - just One God, then God will take of me in every way. He will take care of the smallest personal details of my life. He can remove my sadness, my tiredness, my hunger, my illness. All I need to do is put my head in His lap - all my unhappiness and fatigue will dissolve. All I need to do is have that deep faith that God is there for me - He will send someone to help me. The power of my faith will be such that I will know and sense when someone has been sent by God and when someone has come to help me out of their own attachment. Be careful never to accept anything from someone who has attachment to you. Some children are caught in attachment. Other children trap people in their name and form. Some get upset again and again over little things. Some engage in doing wrong things even though they know that those things are not right. In doing so they spoil the atmosphere. God doesn't get on with such children. Let me do what God likes. Remain light and happy. Let there be sweetness in interactions with others. For that I just need to stay in self respect and give respect. Dadi Ji has been so loved by everyone, right from the start because of her sweetness. No matter how hard I work, how good I am if I am not sweet then God can't have that love for me. We have become God’s Children but we also have to become swadarshanchakradhari . There is no cause for us to have any worries now. We should be living in great happiness. Let there not be any sadness on our faces. God can't bear to see us like that. Just engage yourself in thinking about one aspect of the God’s words - this will bring intoxication. One is to churn or think about something (Chintan). The other is to let your mind, hold, absorb and soak up the richness of something. It is as if you slowly repeat and go over it, again and again - gently and purposefully (simran). When we are simply churning then there is the possibility of ego being mixed into our thoughts. Thoughts also, can sometimes race and get out of hand. When there is simran though - it is as if God's every word is meaningful and brings deep joy. From simran there is a natural transition into the stage of being an embodiment of remembrance. Those who have this practice over a long period of time are able to create an atmosphere. Everyone around them is reminded of God. Click here to donate to the Hurricane Katrina relief effort.
