Guest guest
Dadi Janki - 6th August 2005 - GRC - European Teachers' Retreat What is true mercy? Which children does God really like? In fact, God likes everyone but sit in front of him and ask; God, do you like me? Let each one ask this personally for themselves. People do have preferences as to whom they like. The concern I need to have is to be the type of person God likes. In the world, people either do what they themselves like or what they know other people will like. If there is someone they want to be liked by, they will do what that person asks. All day long, people are concerned about this. They try to be as others would like. Now, go inside and ask yourself what God really likes. If you want to make God fall in love with you, then be one who is true and be one who is honest. God and I only have the confluence to experience being in love and so we have to make the most of this time. God loves the one who totally falls in love with Him. Those who have only Him - nothing and no-one else. When I only like that which God likes and God likes what I like, there is then very deep communication - a deep relationship. So the incognito secret we have about communicating with God is that first I like what He likes and then He begins to like what I like. Then it is not a matter of what I prefer - it is a matter of me liking to do what God likes, and He liking what I do. The Confluence is the time that makes us into those who are merciful and benefactors. God has a merciful heart. Why? Because he has to bring benefit to everyone. Because He has a merciful heart, He is the ocean of forgiveness. We make mistakes but he says; ok, Raven (Negativities) made you do that, now forget it. In order to bring benefit to us, He forgives. We not only don't forget but we keep making more mistakes. So I have to ask my own self; what sort of heart I have for myself. Is my heart so hard for myself that I keep doing what harms me? First my heart has to become merciful for my own self. God has true love for me - there is no doubt about that. What I have to do is to be honest with myself and have true mercy on myself. Realise the fact that God forgives you then forgive yourself and open your eyes. Stop thinking about other things or you won't have time to be merciful for yourself. Every moment of this time is beneficial for us. People in the world are dying. That is going to continue but become merciful for yourself before the end. God tells us that He brings us benefit and that we must become benefactors for the world. He tells us to have mercy for ourselves, for our own sakes. People in the world cannot hear Him but we can. It is not in their fortune but it is in ours. If I don't listen properly what can be said? My heart and my mind have to understand that they must no longer wander around. The heart should say 'I must clean myself out now'. The heart should say to the mind; link to God - there is nothing else now. When the message comes from the heart, the mind will agree to stay linked to God. The mind will then say; let me be linked to God with the heart. When this happens, the mind becomes very rested. When the heart is linked it cannot get trapped anywhere else. The heart feels happy because it is with the One who comforts it. The heart feels happy and so the mind becomes peaceful - these two are deeply connected. The intellect then starts to think in the right way. It stops wandering all over the place. It then becomes easy for the intellect to imbibe God's knowledge. To put the heart and the mind right is to have mercy for the self. The intellect can then listen with a lot of attention and it begins to imbibe. In fact, the intellect likes being soul conscious. When there is the deep practice of soul consciousness - not just the knowledge of soul consciousness but the practice and the experience; the mind becomes manmanabhav (Only God and no one else)and the heart becomes honest. It then becomes easy for the intellect to be yogyukt (actions in remembrance of God). The intellect shouldn't become distracted by the body, relationships and worldly object. If the connection with God breaks, my relationships with Him are spoiled. When there is a good connection, there can be all relationships. When there is good relationship, the intellect becomes free and light. Through the relationships of Mother, Father, Teacher and Satguru (Preceptor), God makes my intellect such that I become the one who is merciful and brings benefit. The soul then feels that everything is ok. It should not be that I think, 'I don't want to give someone sorrow' and so perform such actions that are outside the code. That is not called having a merciful heart. A good doctor gives medicine and is then free. The patient's duty is to take the medicine and become well. For the doctor, it is not a big deal to diagnose and prescribe. If a doctor doesn't understand a specific illness, he will take help from someone. In the same way, we have to consult God before offering advice or any other type of help. It shouldn't be that I think I am very experienced so I can say whatever I want. To be merciful means to have a connection with God and to co-operate with someone at their time of need. When their sickness finishes, my work is over. What mercy does the patient have to have for himself? He has to take the medication and take precautions. I need to have such a deep connection with God that whoever comes into contact with me also develops that connection. God watches us you to see if you are becoming one who is able to give visions. We have to become so satisfied that even the sub-conscious mind is content. For this, become so soul conscious that God can enter your consciousness. Nothing else should remain in your sub-conscious mind because things become imprinted on the sub-conscious and the intellect is then not able to forget them. Once the mind and intellect sort and clean everything out, the sub-conscious can become clear. We need to really experience what it means to be soul conscious. In soul consciousness the soul pulls God's remembrance to itself. It is as if remembrance is then something natural. If I have to make a lot of effort to remember Him, someone else's remembrance can interfere. I have to keep the line of my intellect clear, not the line of the heart but of the intellect. Let me make my mind peaceful and keep my intellect clear. If the mind is thinking one thing but something else is in my heart, how can I really be soul conscious? If I have an attraction or am confused, can I be soul conscious? If I am not soul conscious I cannot really be merciful or a benefactor. If I keep my mind right, the heart can order the intellect to be soul conscious. Our hearts have now become this strong. Sit on the immortal throne in the centre of your forehead and you will be able to remain soul conscious. Actually, this is not a big deal; sit in the forehead, look through the eyes and hear through the ears. To be soul conscious in practice and to just have knowledge of the soul are two different things. In soul consciousness, the thinking is different from in body consciousness. In soul consciousness, with the mind linked to God, the quality of thoughts and feelings is very high. You can then become like God - one with a merciful heart. In soul consciousness we become very, very cool. Dadi loves all of you and out of love she encourages you like a mother bird with her chicks. Don't take this the wrong way. When you begin to fly then others will see you and will want to fly. There is really only a little bit of time left so we have to fly now. We have to fly and awaken those who are sleeping. Don't let people sleep - if they sleep the time will have gone and they won't have earned an income. When I have a merciful heart I will want to do the work of being a benefactor. The consciousness of bringing beneft will create a very high attitude in my heart. To have mercy on myself means never to allow the quality of my thoughts to go down. When the quality of my thinking is high, my thoughts of benefit will reach far. It would be an aspect of such great fortune if you were able to make your heart like God's. Such a heart that is not over sensitive, that does not get hurt, but one that is able to mend the hearts of others. To be such a person, don't allow any negativity in your heart. Tell yourself; until the day I die, my heart and my head should be strong and healthy. Whatever a person keeps in their heart and head over a long period of time will emerge at the time of leaving the body. Remember this.
