Where is your mind going?

It is a law of nature that wherever someone is or whatever they may be

doing, their mind will go either to where there is love or to where there is

animosity. Is this true? You may be at home or at the office but where is

your mind, who are you remembering? The person may be thousands of miles

away but you will remember someone who has given you deep sorrow again and

again. In the same way, you will remember someone who gives you love. It

is easy to remember others but what we really need to do at this time is to

give full attention to self reflection because otherwise time flies past and

much of it is wasted in thoughts of others. Each one of us needs to ask the

self; how is my time being used? Where is my mind going?

Real spirituality means to see yourself within and to know who you are and

how you are. Seeing something but not understanding is not to know

something. It is human nature to want to know everything. Whether it's a

small child or an older person, they will definitely want to 'know'. To see

something but not to understand is of no use to us. On the other hand what

is the point of knowing something you don't need to know? What we really

need to know is how to bring benefit to ourselves. It is only by bringing

benefit to myself that I will be able to benefit others.

We live in the world; we cannot stop hearing and seeing but let your eyes

and ears be under your control. The main aspect in this is not to see or

hear anything that is negative or evil. Those who get tired in life are

those who see negative things or think negatively. In general we can say

that those who think a lot get tired a lot. We have to stop thinking too

much. This takes courage but then God gives help.

Sometimes we ask how something will happen. When something is beneficial it

will definitely happen at the right time. When you think in this way, when

you have that much faith and trust, there will definitely be success. It is

the two words 'how' and 'why' that bring great loss. To ask 'why' means to

waste time. Say 'why' and you will definitely also say 'hai hai' (means to

cry). It is not a matter of asking how to do something but to say 'I will

do it'. There is a lot of benefit in transforming everything into something

positive. A great deal of power will come to you through this practice.

Positivity means there is no waste. It is through this practice that energy

is actually created rather than lost. Negativity drains the power of the

soul. It's like the soul becomes completely empty within. The result of

this emptiness is sorrow and anxiety. Why would someone hurt another,

commit suicide, kill someone? It is because there is a lot of sorrow

within. In today's world there is a great deal of depression. Both young

and old get depressed. Why? Because they don't know how to think well and

they are not in good company. And so the company you keep is something to

pay attention to.

Sometimes the mind becomes so negative that it is something like drinking

poison. When someone is thinking very negatively they create fear in

others. Some think negatively and create fear in their own selves. Let me

make my mind such that I neither am I afraid, nor to I create fear in

others. In fact, what do we really want in life? We want to be peaceful.

Think good thoughts and your words will be good, your actions will be good -

everything will be good.

You have a choice; to become your own best friend or to become your own

worst enemy. Look after your mind well, pay attention to it and you will

become your own friend. It doesn't matter what country you live in, what

language you speak, each one of you is your own friend or your own enemy.

Is this right?
