Learn to concentrate

 

According to the time, whatever shortcomings we have, need to be overcome

now. To realize my shortcomings I need to sit in front of God with

complete concentration. If I don't have complete concentration, my

intellect cannot have the level of clarity required to be able to see my own

shortcomings. When I recognize and realize, then I can change and make

myself completely clean. God has given us many signals that we must

increase our power of concentration.

 

Consider yourself as being observed at every second. If you sit in yoga

(remembrance of God) and your intellect wanders here and there; you think about

who is coming in, going out, sounds, people, etc. it means you have failed in

yoga. Think of yourself an instrument; I have to sit in a concentrated stage

for at least 15 minutes. We really need to have powerful concentration. Why?

So that God can then give loving drishti (vision)and fill the soul. It is

through His drishti that He fills us with everything we need in

life. He makes us complete in everything; body, mind and wealth. If you

allow Him to fill you in this way, there will be nothing lacking in your

life. If your intellect wanders here and there in yoga it really doesn't

seem nice. If you don't sit with a concentrated intellect for at least 15

minutes then it is as if you don't have time to accumulate.

 

Do you remember the eight powers? (Power to Packup,Power to Tolerate,Power to

Accommodate,Power of Judgement,Power of Discrimination,Power to Face,Power to

Co-operate and Power to Withdraw) The eight powers are like are friends. It is

God who has given us the powers as our friends. They are essential to

both practical life and to our meditation. It is the eight powers that help

us to practice the teachings. It is through them that you can become

complete with all virtues. Become complete with all virtues and you will

then see how perfection is like a garland around your neck. You will then

be equal to God.

 

One particular teaching of God's very, very useful in life.

That is not to keep any type of defamation in mind for anyone. Not for

seniors, equals, juniors or agyani souls. If you defame anyone even

slightly whether in your mind or in words, your peace and happiness will

disappear. This is a subtle aspect and we need to pay full attention to it.

 

God tells us that He does not forgive anyone. I now have to pay attention

not to make such mistakes that even God says He cannot forgive. He doesn't

have mercy in the way that people would normally think of mercy. His mercy

is that He teaches us to have mercy for ourselves. Remember God with love

and He will fill you with love. I should pay attention not to give any more

sorrow. God has said that some give sorrow and then say 'sorry' just for

the sake of it.

 

However, I also have to pay attention on not taking sorrow. God is giving

happiness; if I throw it away and take sorrow, what can He do? In fact,

this is a very serious mistake. Don't consider it as an ordinary mistake -

it is not. To give sorrow is a mistake. To take sorrow is a greater

mistake. To give sorrow is actually body consciousness. It is a kind of

carelessness. It is when you take sorrow that you cannot remember God with

love. God gives us platefuls of the most beautiful jewels. We take those,

fill ourselves and then. when someone gives sorrow it is as if the soul

empties itself of jewels and fills itself with sorrow. It is as if you

forget all the happiness that God has ever given you at that time.

 

We have to respect even those who defame us. Now keep this aspect with you;

it is a

great mistake to keep the defamation of anyone in your heart. It can bring

deep suffering. Do this and you will lose you treasure of self respect and

your respect for others. Keep giving respect from your heart to even those

who defame you. Everyone should feel from you that this is the one who

follows the Father. See the Father. Don't see evil, don't speak evil,

don't hear evil. If you practice this you will even look like an angel.

 

The wonder of the power of concentration is that it is able to make the soul

introverted, accurate and ever-ready. Now practice concentrating and just

continue to watch the miracles that happen. With remembrance and God's

love, we receive power filled with blessings and we are successful in

whatever efforts we make.

 

I mustn't have the slightest disliking for anyone in my mind. Anyone who has

disliking for someone or something is unable to keep God's jewels of

knowledge in their mind. When someone comes to God as a small child, they

just drink the nectar of knowledge, and as they grow up, they begin to play

with the jewels of knowledge throughout the day. One who plays with jewels

of knowledge in their mind has no time or margin to have any disliking for

anything. To become Bapsaman (Equal to God) is a very elevated aim and to do

that let me constantly drink nectar, play with the jewels of knowledge and

become sweet.
