Namaste all.

Here is a 'pada' composed by Jagadguru Sri Kripaluji Maharaj from

'Prema Rasa Madira - Wine of Divine Love':

'rasika rangeelo shyaam hamaaro....'

When listening to this 'kirtana' sung by the Divine lovers at JKP

Ashrams with choked voice and flooding eyes, the devotees may

feel like rolling on the ground in true 'K-craziness'!

'rasika rangeelo shyaam hamaaro....'

A Vraja Rasik Saint in Madhurya Rasa of Gopi-bhava remembering the

Divine Beloved, tastefully recounting His sweet Divine form, virtues

and lilas of Divine Love:

My (Our) Divine Beloved Shyama Sundar is the Crest Jewel of all

the Rasikas, the Connoiseurs of Love!

indra-neela-mani neela kalevara, lakhi laajata sata kaam,

hamaaro...

His beautiful, enchanting Divine body with brilliant, cool-blue

complexion puts to shame thousands of Cupids, the gods of worldly

beauty and charm combined together!

chalakata prema-sudhaa-rasa chitavani, mridu musukani abhiraam,

hamaaro...

What to speak of His seductive tender smile, His piercingly

sharp, handsome looks overflowing with blissful nectar of amorous

Love! He is simply captivating my mind and filling my heart with

Divine passion!

madhura, madhura dhuni venu bajaavata, mana bhaavata braja bhaam,

hamaaro...

On top of all this, when He plays sweetest Divine melodies on His

flute stealing my lifebreath, He is enticing not only my 'self',

but also all the souls of blessed Gopis, the maidens of Vraja!

kabahun sakhana sanga, kabahun sakhina sanga, viharata aathoyaam,

hamaaro...

My Dark Beloved always, twentyfour hours of the day, frolicking in

the sacred bowers of Vrindavana, sometimes enjoying the company of

His cowherd friends during the day and secret daliances with

love-lorn cowherdesses, His sweetheart Gopis at night!

lakhata 'kripaalu' shambhu-suka jhaanki, sri vrindavana dhaam,

hamaaro...

In the concluding verse, the Poet-Saint reminds the devotees the

transcendental nature of Lord Krishna by declaring that

these Divine pastimes of the amorous Deity of Vrindavana are

eagerly yearned after, visualized in the heart and meditatated

upon even by the liberated sage like Sukadeva Paramahamsa and

Bhagavan Shankarji himself.

O friend! If you have any desire to enjoy the company of

your family and relatives then do not ever look at the

body of Sri Hari here down by the river at Kesi Ghat!!

He has a charming sweet smile and stands

in triple-curved attractive posture,

darting His restless amorous sidelong glances,

placing the flute on His soft leaflet-lips

adorned in handsome peacock-feathered diadem.

Sri Kripaluji Maharaj often quotes these verses of

Vraja Rasik Saints to describe the Divine beauty and

charm of Lord Krishna Who is bewildered by His own

reflection in jewelled pillars:

'roop dekhi apanaare....' (Vraja bhasha)

aparikalita-pUrvaH kaz camatkAra-kArI

sphurati mama garIyAn eSa mAdhurya-pUraH |

ayam aham api hanta prekSya yaM lubdha-cetAH

sarabhasam upabhoktuM kAmaye rAdhikeva || LM 8.92 ||

(Sanskrit)

Lalita-madhava Nataka, Sri Roopa

Sri Krishna says to Himself:

What is This on the jewelled wall that

enchants My heart with Its sweetness?

(He looks again) Ah! How have I become reflected here?

(Joyfully excited) Who manifests there such an abundance of

sweetness greater than Mine, Which has never been experienced

before and Which causes wonder to all including Me?

Alas, I Myself, My mind bewildered upon seeing this Supreme beauty,

impetuously desire to enjoy It like My Sweetheart, Radharani Herself.
