Please note: At times the forum will be off-line for a few minutes, please check back in a few minutes if you get a page not available or not found error. with love and respect bindu ---- ---------- Points covered in this email are: The nature, reason and purpose of the New Forum. A list and description of the Ananta Yoga Web Sites Some clarifying information as regards the source of Ananta Yoga. A little on the nature of grace. A little on the nature of Seva A little on the nature of Bhakti Non-Contemplation and The Doer Not Doing. ---- ---------- The Nature, Reason and Purpose of The New Forum The nature of the new forum is inherent in the vision i have for the future of Ananta Yoga on the Internet. This vision includes: The creation of a place to which people from all over the world can come to love and share in the fellowship and sincerity of a formal yoga virtual Ashram regardless of nationality, heritage, gender or religion. web presence. The establishment of an online organization wholly and completely devoted to the spread of the Sanatan Dharma. The Establishment of a formal virtual College or School with a curriculum designed towards making the knowledge of the consciousness available to all people regardless of the circumstances of their location, culture, religious bigotry in their community. or lack of local resources. (With the advent of the internet the knowledge of The Conscious Self can be shared on a scale that has never been possible in the history of man. It is an opportunity for countless people to take part in the birth of a brand new yoga). The Reason for Creating the New forum The reason the new forum was created is due to the fact that neither nor MSN Forums are suited to the vision for Ananta Yoga for several reasons. 1. There is a limit as to how much information can be stored. 2. Any information stored can be and may be deleted without warning 3. Any commercial forum only exists so that advertising can be presented legally to the forum members. Advertising is not part of the agenda of the Ananta Yoga credo. 4. Any file of any size can be stored on the Ananta Yoga Server as storage space is unlimited. 5. The forum configuration on and MSN cannot be adjusted to suit the structure of a college whereby there would be a requirement for several different levels of management within the management of the Virtual College as well as many different areas and divisions of purpose per group of members. Such as various levels of teaching much like a physical school has class rooms. 6. Personal Information should never be stored outside the control of the owners of that information, which is the case with commercial forums. 7. Members will always have direct access to their files, folders and or information on the server as if it is their own hard drive. This will be achieved by the creation of a personal folder on the server, for each member. Please Note: This access will be given ONLY to those who have proven themselves to be trust-worthy people. This is restriction is necessary due to the prevalence of hackers, and the risks involved in opening the Ananta Yoga Server to exterior access over the internet. 8. All the information in the Ananta Yoga Forum is stored on the Ananta Yoga Server and cannot be compromised or discovered by anyone. Much of the above is impossible via or MSN. The Purpose of the New Forum As said above the new forum has been created to bring many people together whereby they can not only interact ( as is the case with most internet forums) but also attend formal classes on The Nature of The Self. i envisage several classes in which people can learn at their own speed and level of development. This would require several teachers and a caring yoga orientated administration system which is not available via a commercial board.. ---- ---------- Descriptions of the Ananta Yoga Web Sites As you know there are 12 different sections of the Ananta Yoga Web..these are... Using this search Engine you can search for countless pieces of information within the body of the countless pages. It is a most wonderful peice of technology. http://www.upnaway.com/~bindu/yogadocs/upanishadsearch.htm The World Time Clock This is a clock which has the time in various locations all over the world. http://www.upnaway.com/~bindu/timezone/clock.htm ---- ---------- The Source of Ananta Yoga What may not be clear as regards the Ananta Yoga, is the fact that it is being expounded according to the questions that come up in live chat. This is as it should be because it is The Self who asks the questions (in the form of the Students) and it is The Self who answers them in the form of the Guru. In this way The Self is asking Himself about his own nature in this way Ananta Yoga is not a dry philosophical dirge or polemic, but a dynamic living thing, growing as we move forward. It is so great that an entire lifetime is required for expounding it.This means the Ananta Yoga Gita\Manual is being created... the documentation is being written. Upon realization of The Self, the consciousness of the yogi is resolved, absorbed, immersed in The Conscious Absolute. That Self is Omniscient; the knowledge is not like worldly knowledge which is finite knowledge about something. (i.e. once we understand how a faucet works, we can say we know it).... The Self-Knowledge is not finite knowledge at all; it is endless knowing. This is why any new or old REAL Yoga is a living growing thing, it is coming into being; its growth will always be new like a great tree which grows by a river. The river in this case is the grace which is the desire residing in all of us to ask questions regarding The Self . As regards the creation, advent, founding, expounding of any new yoga (now or in the past), after realization the realized ones must bring it down to the people; this is their duty. This is exactly what is happening, we are witnessing the birth and the coming down of a new yoga. ---- ---------- The Nature of Grace Due to the fact that The Self has given the students the desire to consciously seek Him, the questions each of us has, is a result of our love for The Self, (the desire to find Him) this love can only be given "BY THE SELF"... . hence it is by grace that we come to Him. Love for The Self is in this way, the presence of the actual grace in each of us; the depth of love we have for The Self is the degree of grace he has given us. The Avadhuta Gita Says: "By the Grace of god the desire for non-duality arises in us to save us from great fear!" (This great fear is the thought that life has no purpose or meaning, or that love does not exist. or that all our travail is meaningless, or that our desire to serve The Self is misguided.) If we would look for or hope for the depth of grace required to realize The Self, we should understand that we can develop our bhakti -- our prema by seva, by devotion. either by devotion to work for The Self or Guru (Seva) or by devotion to the worship of The Self (bhakti). The perfection of devotion is merely total commitment to the extent that the i-ness is forgotten. ---- ---------- Seva Outer Seva takes the form of the actions we do for the furthering of the spread of The Knowledge of The Self either directly or indirectly. Inner Seva takes the form of meditation where we work towards the eventual realization so that we can in the end do the outer work of The Self by becoming his servant in this world. Seva leads to the recognition that we are not the doer of the actions. ---- ---------- Bhakti Outer Bhakti takes the form of serving the temple, chanting bajans, cleaning the deities, dressing the deities etc. serving the devotees of The Lord.. This outer devotion causes the mind to always think on the form of the lord, which leads inward to the Para-Bhakti. Para-Bhakti (inner love for the lord) takes the form of meditation on The Self, which takes the consciousness beyond the form to the transcendental Conscious Absolute - it leads to the immersion in Conscious-Love of Love loving Love - to Conscious realization of the nature of The Transcendental Self. But this is not the realization had by the Jiva\Individual Soul.... it is The Self immersed in Himself... it is His Self-Realization. His realization that his true nature is Love-Consciousness. Pratyabhijnahrydayam Sutra Says: "By non-contemplation of Me, are you bound" (the mention of "ME" is a reference to Siva) ---- ---------- Non-Contemplation and The Doer-Not Doing. Non-contemplation means to think something exists other than The Self... even to the extent that there is the thought that there is a thinker other than The Self. Advaita says: "You are not the Doer" so then you are not the one doing seva, nor are you the one who has love for the lord in both cases it is He Himself who is the doer. Yet to perfect either Seva or Bhakti is to at last understand Him... it is to recognize you are not the Doer, not the one living, not the one loving not the one serving, not the one thinking, not the one seeing, not the one hearing, not the one tasting, not the one feeling, not the one scenting, not the existing, not the one having, not the one getting, not the one receiving, not one giving .. i.e "YOU ARE NOT THE DOER" nor are you the one thinking you are the one thinking, or thinking you are the one who is not the doer. Hence to achieve success in the Seva or Bhakti to achieve realization -- is to recognize that it is not you who is the success. However recognition is not simply intellectual appreciation of the fact that we are not the doer, that is merely indirect knowledge; direct knowledge is recognition that nothing is known by anyone. ---- ---------- I would also like to invite all who have not done so already, to come and join by clicking the link below http://siva.upnaway.com/phpbb/profile.php? mode=register&sid=18610422831b702e2bbe7dedf6e564a2 Please read the sections below which explain in more detail.
