Can someone tell which way is the correct way of meditation ?

will it be search for Self or search for God ? Is self one with the

God or not ?

Hari Om

There are numerous ways of meditation, numerous paths to follow. Yoga

itself has so many different types and methods of meditation that one

can really become confused. I believe its essential firstly to find

the method that suits one most, and secondly to find a guru.

The techniques are all written in the yogic books, one can find

meditational methods in many books of all esoteric kinds, a guru will

give a different boost to the disciple's sadhana though.

Self and God are just two words that are trying to symbolize

something. One could as well express the idea of God as "greatest

source of energy", "the perfected self". I dont think God is entity

like the deities we are familiar with. I think, in the proccess of

evolution, every "self" can become "Self" or "God" or whatever you

choose to call the perfected state of existence. The search of the

self will automatically lead you to god, as god is within, in your

being.

It needs a little bit of more explanation.

Is self other than God ?

Is God Other than pure potentiality and pure consciousness?

Can we safely say self is god himself encircled in Maya?

Can we assume Pure consciousness, when differentiates becomes God?

And lastly, if self in us is already a part of liberalised pure

Soul then who is it who needs liberation? who is suffering ?

For a student of Vedanta these are very standard questions and standard answers

are available in plenty. In any case here are some Vedantic thoughts on the

subject.

It is the Jiva or the ego who is suffering and is covering the Self in the form

of ignorance. This veil of ignorance needs to be removed to bring out the

immaculate ever shining Self and that is liberation.

Then what is Jiva? Jiva is a reflection of pure Aatma through the instrument of

the intellect, which gives rise to the wrong notion that I am the body, also

known as ego or more correctly the false ego.

How can the pure Aatma give rise the wrong notion that "I am the body"? It is

because the reflection takes place through intellect, which is a part of the

subtle body and here we the accumulated experiences stored of our past millions

and billions of incarnations through 8.4 M species of life forms. Therefore

there is a very strong inherent conviction within us that "I am the body". By

God's grace human incarnation is a rare opportunity where efforts can be

undertaken to break down this ignorance that "I am the body". Please don't lose

this God given opportunity to shed this ignorance.

We cannot be sure of our next birth, what form it might take? Gita says it is

the last thought that determines our next formation, for example if we have an

attachment to the pet in the house and the thought of that pet came in front of

us just before death, it is easy enough to imagine, what might happen and there

are instances of such happenings given in the Hindu Scriptures.

God, Self, Aatma, Consciousness, Awareness, Brahman, Krishna are all synonymous

terms. It is the greatness of Hinduism that it gives us a choice.

Hello,

Search for self means search for spirit

Is it possible to go near the spirit?

How many of us think about it?

normally we remeber one's spirit after his death to be in peace.
