Namaste.

When Lord descends on earth in His Divine incarnation, He appears

along with all His entourage from Divine abode.

His beloved parents, servants, devotees and consorts accompany Him to

assist in performing the Divine pastimes.

Srimad Bhagavatam has revealed that the personal door-keepers of Lord

Vishnu, 'Jaya and Vijaya', were cursed by the Sanat Kumara Sages to

take birth three times as the demons in order to be killed by Lord

Himself.

They became 'Hiranyaksha and Hiranyaksipu' whom Lord Vishnu

personally vanquished in different incarnations.

In Ramavatara, Jaya-Vijayas appeared as Ravana and Kumbhakarna who

were killed by Lord again.

In Krishnavatara, same devotees took birth as Sisupala and

Dantavaktra whom Lord Krishna finally liberated from their material

existence.

Actually, the door keeper devotees of Lord Vishnu, Jaya and Vijaya,

chose to become demons for THREE times instead of appearing as

brahmana DEVOTEES for SEVEN times so that they could be reunited with

their beloved Lord in less time.

They did not care to become unpopular in the world as the DEMONIAC

ENEMIES of Lord Vishnu but voluntarily embraced the infamy out of

their PURE DEVINE LOVE.

An exalted devotee alone is capable of acting in the role of Lord's

enemy, fulfilling His divine mission.

The pure devotee has no desire of his or her OWN but to participate

in the Divine exploits of the Lord according to His will.

A sincere devotee should take delight in EVERY action of his Beloved,

and accept His Grace in EVERY gesture.

"krodho'pi te'nugraha eva saMmataH"

(Bhagavatam)

His anger, His indifference, and His love are ALL aspects of His

Grace. This reminds me the great devotee Bhishma Pitamaha of Maha

Bharata and his sublime prayers to Lord Krishna, revealing different

sentiments of Divine Love.

Sri Bhishmadeva prayed (Srimad Bhagavatam 1. 9 verses 37 to 39):

"Breaking His own vow not to take up

arms during Mahabharata war,

Sri Krishna jumped down from the car

on which He had taken His seat and,

like lion that pounces upon an elephant to kill him,

darted towards me with a wheel of His chariot in His hand,

the earth trembling under His feet and

His upper garment dropping behind Him."

"Hit with the piercing arrows of a desparado like me

and bathed in blood, and with His armour broken,

He Who rushed foth to KILL me, disregarding the

remonstrances of Arjuna,-

may that Lord Mukunda (the Bestower of blessedness)

be my eternal shelter."

"May I in my last moments develop love for the Lord Who,

having taken upon Himself the responsibility to protect

the chariot of Arjuna,

took the charioteer's whip in one hand

and held horses' reins in another and

looked most attractive in that charming ROLE,

witnessing which at their last moment,

they who fell on this battle field attained

a form of similar to His (Sarupya Mukti)."

Jaya Sri Radhey!
