Ramakrishna Parmahamsa had an ulcer of the mouth for a similar reason, it is said. Buddha and Maharishi Dayananda died of food poisoning and it is my belief that they did not die under the influence of their Prarabdha. May be Dr, Yadu can shed more light on the subject. Guest guest
Jesus Christ too said that He'll take all our sins onto His own shoulders. All of us would love to shed our sins. But how many of us believe that we are sin free after that? What Jesus Christ said is like a riddle in itself. One must reach a sufficient level of even to shed one's own karma / sins. All of us love to shed our sins, but we cannot do so unless we attain that state. It's like telling, one needs to have a license to practise medicine in my hospital. It is absurd to ask, ' Is a license enough? Don't you need a degree?" The puzzle is that , one will not get a license unless one gets a degree. Hence the question becomes redundant. Similarly, to shed our sins we need to rise to a certain level. For eg. If we just bath in the Ganga, and if a tiger were following us in a tunnel, and there is a huge vicious stretch of fire which is 0.5 km long in the end of the tunnnel that we are running towards, and we hear God's voice say " Fear not ! Since you are sin free as you just bathed in Ganga, the fire will not burn you. You can pass unharmed through this stretch of fire. " How many of us would NOT have even an IOTA of fear in the hearts and pass through the fire fearlessly? Would we pass through this fire as fearlessly , (if at all we pass) as we would through a cloud of mist? Many may think that the end if near. Those who are braver than the rest may pass through the fire, but definitely NOT without even an iota of fear in the heart. This shows the level of faith. We truly do not believe to be sinfree even after bathing in the Ganga or shedding it unto Jesus Christ. One needs to be a great sadhak even to shed one's own sins. When one reaches such a stage, one will loose all karma, and hence it is not against karma for Ganga /Jesus to take upon themselves our sins. It is simply a wonderful riddle. Hope this helps.
