Guest guest
Dear Radha Kutirji I remember something like that had been posted last year during ID. I still have to track it down! I'm sorry I didn't realize it was offensive to anyone. While I personally dislike gory stories, no matter who it comes from, I remember thinking about the symbolic meaning that was being given to it, realizing the importance of symbolism in all religions and kept the post in the interest of information and learning. We too have our own violent stories and animal sacrifice, an important practice in the olden days and still so in some parts of Tantric practice. Sometimes, no matter what the symbolic meaning may be, some practices still hurt our sensitivities. I wish you had mentioned it was offensive, I would have taken it off the board. Please don't hesitate to let me know in the future. _/\_ Tat twam asi Uma , SRI RADHA KUTIR <radhaktr@v...> wrote: > > Here I like to interject another topic related to violence. At the time of the last Muslim Id, someone posted a message justifying the bleeding of animals to death by slitting their throat and this was allowed to circulate among the members. It was unfortunate that such a posting should be allowed to appear in this group because any form of violence goes against the practice of spiritual Sadhana. I request the moderators that they make sure that such postings are not allowed to appear in this group.
