SRIMAD BHAGAVATA MAHPURANA Part II, Book Ten Uddhava said : Oh, you Gopis

have your objects accomplished indeed and are adored of the worlds in that your

mind is so absorbed in the Lord Vasudeva. Now listen to the message of your

Darling, Sri Krsna, which will bring joy to you and carrying which I, who

execute his secret commissions, have come, O good ladies. The glorious Lord says

: Your separation from me, the material cause of all, is not possible under any

circumstances. Just as the five gross elements--ether, air, fire, water, and

earth--are present in created beings, so am I, underlying as I do the mind, the

vital airs, the elements, the Indriyas (five senses of perception and the five

organs of action) and the three Gunas. In Myself do I create, maintain, and

dissolve Myself by dint of My own maya, by Myself in the form of the elements,

the Indiriyas and the Gunas. The Spirit is all Knowledge, transcendent,

unconnected with the three Gunas and pure. It is experienced through states of

the mind (wakefulness, the dream state and deep sleep), brought about by Maya.

Remaining vigilant, one should control that mind through which one conceives

objects of sense (sound, touch, taste sight, smell, though unreal--like one who,

when awake, recalls the objects seen in a dream--and seizes the senses. In the

eyes of the wise, the Vedas, the path of Yoga, the Sankhya system of philosophy

(which differentiates Matter from Spirit), renucnciation, suffering hardships

for the sake of one's faith, subjugation of one's senses and truthfulness have

their goal in mind-control even as rivers terminate in the ocean. It is only

with intent to focus your thought constantly on Me in order to ensure your

mental proximity with Me that I, your Darling, is actually staying far from your

eyes. The mind of women, as well as of others, does not get so absorbed in the

thought of their most beloved one living close by and open to their view, as

Jaya Sri Radhey!

 

In the Bhagavata Purana (10.32.30), when the Cowherdesses ACCUSE

LORD KRISHNA OF CRUELTY FOR DESERTING THEM, HE ANSWERS:

 

"I, THE EMBODIMENT OF MERCY-

HOW CAN I BE CRUEL, AND

ESPECIALLY TO MY DEVOTEES?

 

NO, NEVER!

 

MY DISAPPEARANCE IS ONLY A VEIL THAT

I DRAW IN ORDER TO NOURISH YEARNING AND

LOVE FOR ME BY THE FIRE OF SEPARATION.

 

AS A POOR MAN HITTING BY CHANCE ON A TREASURE

AND AGAIN LOOSING IT, IS CONSTANTLY BROODING OVER IT,

SO I WISH THAT MY DEVOTEE SHOULD NOT FOR A MOMENT FORGET ME."

Meaning:

 

Another Vraja Rasik Saint says through the words of Lord Krishna-

 

"As I am suffering in the fire of separation

from My Beloved Radharani, wherever I glance,

I only visualize My Radhika!

When I look at My palacial home, Radhe is there!

Radhe is seen at each path and every trail of Vrindavana!

Radhika is blssfully present in front of Me and behind Me!

Even in My resting bed, Beloved Radhe is found before My eyes!

In all possible directions, I am seeing only My soul Radha!

My Radhe is seen wherever My looks fall upon

and every object of the world is transformed into

My beautiful Beloved Radhika!

 

What more can be said about this state of

NON-duality and absolute ONENESS!

The outside world as well as inner subtle mind,

heart and soul along with My entire divine existence

are pervaded by My eternal Beloved Radharani!"
