Guest guest
Salutations to Thakur, Guru, and Sri Ma! Sri Ramakrishna--"There is the Path of Reasoning, the path that Vedantists take, and there is the Path of Bhakti. If a bhakta weeps longingly for Brahma-jnana he receives that as well. One can attain Brahma-jnana by both paths. Since the consciousness of 'I' does not leave the bhakta easily, he does not explain away the states of waking, dream, and deep sleep. He accepts all the states. Further, he accepts the three gunas--sattva, rajas and tamas. A bhakta sees that these three exist in the twenty-four cosmic principles, the universe and the living beings. I also see that, God reveals Himself in a tangible embodiment of the Spirit. The bhakta takes shelter under Vidyamaya. He seeks holy company, goes on pilgrimage, and develops dispassion and jnana. He says that, since the consciousness of 'I' does not leave him easily he should let the rascal stay as the servant of God, as His devotee. But the bhakta also has the Knowledge of Oneness--he sees that nothing exists but God. He does not see the world as a dream, but says that it is God himself who has become everything. By constantly meditating on Krishna, Radha sees everything permeated with Krishna; she even saw herself as Krishna. Similarly, by constantly meditating on God the bhakta loses his consciousness of I and soon realizes that God is he and he is God. No sooner does this happen than he obtains liberation. As long as God retains the ego in a man, he should establish a definite relationship with God--calling on Him as Master, mother, friend or the like. The attitude of regarding God as Mother is the last word in sadhana. 'O God, Thou art my mother and I am Thy child.'--this is the last word in spirituality."
