Guest guest
Jaya Sri Radhey! Gopi-Saint Mirabai sings: I will fasten the bells of his love to my feet And dance in front of Girdhar. Dancing and dancing I will please his eyes; My love is an ancient one. My love is the only truth. I do not care about social norms Nor do I keep my family's honour. I cannot forget, even for a moment, The beauty of my lover. I am dyed in Hari's colour. (The devotional poems of Mirabai. Guest guest
Jaya Sri Radhey! The Gopi-Saint Mirabai sings again: "main saamvariyo ke rang raacaam re..." My Dark Beloved has colored me, the color of 'Syama', He's stained me. Beating the clay drum at both ends, like a nautch girl I dance before my Lord and devotees. Back in town I'm called crazy, drunkard, a love slut... they incited the king who ordered me poisoned but I drained the cup without missing a step. Mira's Lord is the True Prince, He dyed her in the color of His Love, birth after birth she is His slave. Guest guest
Jaya Sri Radhey! Another 'Song of Divine Separation', composed by the Gopi-Saint, Mirabai, on the occasion of 'Holi' festival: "kina sanga khelum holi..." Terrible solitude festival (Holi) day now that He's gone. Damn the rubies and pearls, I'll string devotional beads at my throat. And here's an old hermit cloak - now that food and house are distasteful it matches my feelings. What makes me like this? It's a riddle. You take me to bed then go off and make love to some other girl. Does she have You under her spell that You cann't even write me? Mia's bundle of nerves in Your absence. Look at her, an unwatered weed when the Dark One's away, she wilts in the rubble. (Translated by Andrew Schelling - 'For Love of the Dark One') Jaya Sri Radhey!
