Guest guest
Om Namah Shivayah! Shri Mahadeva Shankara Bhagavan protects the Holy Dhama of Braja, and every devoted pilgrim must go to offer his respect and homage unto Him. Shri Mahadeva presides in Vraja as Gopishvara in Vrindavan, Bhuteshvara in Mathura, Nandishvara at Nandagrama, Kameshvara at Kamyavana, Cakaleshvara at Govardhan and Kundeshvara at Radha Kund. Prior to parikrama of Radha Kund devotees offer their love and respects to Kundeshvara Mahadeva, and prior to entering Vamsi Vat they pray for the blessings of Gopishvara Mahadeva, Who guards the arena of the sacred circle of Divine dance. Every Vaishnava in the Holy Dhama prays for the kind blessing of Shri Mahadeva. Vaishnava acarya Sri Visvanatha writes in his 'Sankalpa Kalpadruma (103)': vRndAvanavani-pate! jaya soma soma-maule sanaka-sanandana-sanAtana-nAradeDya gopIzvara! vraja-vilAsi-yugAGghri-padme prema prayaccha nirupAdhi namo namaste "O Lord of the forests of Divine Vrindavana! O Soma, all glories to You! O You whose forehead is decorated with the moon, and Who is worshipable for the sages headed by Sanaka, Sanandana, Sanatana and Narada! O Gopishvara! Desiring that You bestow upon me Prema for the lotus feet of Shri Shri Radha-Madhava Who perform joyous pastimes in Vraja-dhama, I offer my salutations unto You time and again!" A few verses from 'Hamsa Duta' Kaavya by the Rasik Saint Sri Roopa descrbing Sri Radhika's pangs of divine separation: "Lately, ominous new waves of fear are dancing constantly in the inner chambers of her mind. Oh most beautiful one! Your form is like honey for the starving eyes of the world. Now that you left for Mathura, Radha never gets any more news of you and she has become most anxious. Listen, I shall tell You how she passes her days. Sometimes she offers her respects to those sages of unfailing words, seeking advice on how she can get You back; sometimes she tries to please the mystics who know various spells thinking that surely there must be some mantra that she can chant which will force You return, sometimes she humbly renders service to those who know the art of using potions ; and sometimes she prays devotedly to Parvati Devi for the benediction of seeing You again. Oh Krishna! upset by Your absence, that poor girl sees nothing of merit anywhere in this world. Oh enemy of Kamsa! These days, my dearest friend spends all her time at 'Nandiswara', worshipping as she remembers You as the protector of the animals in Vraja, as one sporting a fresh peacock feather in His headdress, as one engaged in such whimsical sports that cause the lust of all women to increase, as one whose form is more beautiful than a new rain cloud and as One who is always enjoying new loving affairs. All she wants is to be able to have You by her side again and that is all she prays for - whether to You, Siva or any other god." - Hamsa Duta 81-83, Mystic Poetry, Jan Brzezinski Jaya Sri Radhey! , pyari_h <no_reply> wrote: > Om Namah Shivayah! Guest guest
Jaya Sri Radhey! The poems composed by Jagadguru Sri Kripaluji Maharaj are very useful to Prema Bhakti Sadhakas (Rasik devotees) who enjoy contemplating upon the Lord as Supreme Beloved, the 'Saguna, Saakaara, Purnatama, Purushottama Brahman, Bhagavan Sri Radha-Krishna'. In this 'pada' of 'Prema Rasa Madira' which is available on the internet at: http://jkp.org/literature/index.html a devotee is PRAYING to LORD KRISHNA, fervently requesting Him some thing. What it could be? "shyama , haum kaba hoyI haum braja dhoori?" (1) O my Lord Beloved! O my Shyama Sundar! When am I going to BECOME A DUST PARTICLE OF YOUR LAND OF VRINDAVAN? "ayi nanda tanuja kiGkaram patitam mAm viSame bhavAmbudhau kRpayA tava pAda pankajasthita- dhUlI sadRzam vicintaya" (Sri Caitanya Sikshashtakam - 5) Sri Gauranga Mahaprabhu prayed: "Oh Son of Nanda and Yasoda! I am Your eternal servitor yet I have fallen into the ocean of birth and death. Oh gracious Lord! Please pick me up and place me as one of the DUST particles at Your lotus feet." "hai braja dhoori anga lapatai haum, ura aananda bharpoori?" (2) O my Darling Krishna! Having been transformed into the Divine dust of the Sacred Vrajadhama, when can I embrace (sprinle) Your transcendental body, overwhelmed in Divine ecstasy? The Rask Saint Sri Lilasuka Bilvamangala prayed in Sri Krishna Karnamritam: godhUli dhUsarita komala kuntalAgraM govardhanoddharaNa kelIkRta prayAsaM gopI janasya kuca kuGkuma mudritAGgaM govindaM induvadanaM zaraNaM bhajAmaH (Sri Krishna Karnamritam 2. 26) "I delightfully take shelter in my Beloved, Govinda, the yranscendental Joy of all senses, Who is beautiful, cool, moon faced Lord, Whose flowing soft, curly hair is sprinkled with the foot DUST of the blessed cows of Vraja, Who seems to be very exhausted playing the game of lifting the Mountain Govardhana, and Whose transcendental body is stamped with the saffron covering the Divine bosoms of His sweetheart Gopis!!!" "jehi brajaraj kahe rasikana maanata, praaN sajivana moori," (3) The same dust of Vrindavan was extolled by Rasika Mahapurusha as the LIFE GIVING miracle (sanjIvani) medicine for the blessed souls. Moreover, I have complete faith in their divine teachings, fortunately for me. "jehi paavana raja paavan kaha vidhi, bhaag manaavata bhoori," (4) This sacred DUST is sought even by the heavenly gods like Lord Brahma who thinks of himself the most blessed, just to receive this alms of sacred dirt from Your Land of Vraja. "tadastu me nAtha sa bhUri bhAgo bhave 'tra vAnyatra tu vA tirazcAm yenAhameko 'pi bhavajjanAnAM bhUtvA niSeve tava pAda pallavam" (Lord Brahma's prayers to Sri Krishna - Bhagavatam 10.14.30) "jehi lagi bane latan taru jnaanin, tyaagi samaadhi doori," (5) To receive a fraction of the dust from Your Vrindavan, the great Jnani Saints and Paramahamsas, giving up their Santa Rasa Nirvisesha Brahmananda attained in Nirvikalpa Samadhi by contemplating upon the Absolute Brahman, assume the forms of flowering and fruit trees and beautiful creepers of Kunja to SERVE YOU and YOUR ASSOCIATES in the (Divine sentiment of Dasya Rasa), RASA of SERVITUDE. "AsAmahO carana renu jushamahaM zyAM vRndAvane kimapi gulma latauSadhI nAM yA dustyajaM svajana mArya pathaMca hitvA bhejur mukunda padavIM zRti bhirvi mRgyAM" (Bhagavatam 10.47.61) The great Jnani Uddhava, the friend of Sri Krishna prayed- "O Krishna! How fortunate I would be, to become a grove, a creeper, or a plant in the forest of VrindAvana, in order to be blessed with the "foot-dust" of the Gopis, who have cut off all bonds of worldly attachments and attained the Highest state of Transcendental Bliss of Divine love, which is being searched in Vedas, from time immemorial (but invain). "dhoori dhoosarita tohin 'kRpAlu' kab, atanu lakhaigo ghoori." (6) In the concluding verse, the Poet-Saint Kripaluji restlessly begs Lord Krishna, "When, my dear Lord, becoming the Divine DUST of Your Land, when can I smear and cover Your entire transcendental body with no sign of recognition? Then unable to recognize "You as Lord Krishna, and mistaking You for Lord Shiva" Who is usually covered with the dust of cremation grounds, the lord of love, Kama deva, the Cupid, the enemy of Lord Siva would look at You with vengeful eyes. (When Kama deva looks at some one to attack, that person is naturally overwhelmed with passionate love for one's lover!) So, when that blessed moment will come in my life, O my dear Shyama Sundar?" --------------- The Rasik Saint Sri Jayadeva Kaviraja in his 'Gita Govinda' Kaavya had described in these verses of Lord Krishna Who was trying to convince Cupid, the god of love so that there coudn't be a 'mistaken identity', for Lord Shiva was indeed the enemy of Cupid and not innocent lovelorn Krishna. "Lotus stalks garland my heart, Not a necklace of snakes! Blue lily petals circle my neck, Not a streak of poison! Sandawood powder, not ash, Is smeared on my lovelorn body! "Love-god, don't attack, mistaking me for Siva!" Why do you rush at me in rage? Don't lift your mango-blossom arrow! Don't aim your bow! Our games prove your triumph, Love. Striking weak victims is empty valor. Radha's doe eyes broke my heart With a volley of glances Impelled by love- Nothing can arouse me now!" from 'Love Song of the Dark Lord' - B.S.
