Guest guest
Be empty of all mental content Give up all and you gain all Desireless, choiceless and effortless living is living in God. This is how Nature exists in God effortlessly. Some useful axioms for a seeker. 1) Act but do not react. 2) Practice what you preach. 3) Silence is golden. 4) Do unto others what you want done unto you. 5) Know that 'only the wearer knows where the shoe pinches', therefore be sympathetic to others' needs and difficulties. 6) Any contact with the world is a source of misery only. 7) my first prayer is of truth, the second of honest living, the third of the grace of God, the fourth of a clean mind and the fifth of the remembrance of God always. 8) Submit to His Will totally without any reservations and accept whatever comes as one's lot cheerfully as the Will of the Lord. 9) When we focus our attention on the sub-stratum the illusory superimpositions disappear automatically. For when we focus our attention on the rope, the sub-stratum for the illusory snake, the illusory snake disappears and what is left is the rope alone. Similarly when we focus our attention on Brahman, which is the sub-stratum for the illusory world, the illusion disappears and what is left is the pure Consciousness. 10) mark but don't remark. 11) Happiness comes to him who gives happiness to others. 12) Learn to live without the least inconvenience to others. 13) Desireless, choiceless and effortless living is living in God. This is how Nature exists in God effortlessly. 14) Vedanta Sadhana in a nut shell means, "Detach - Attach", i.e. detach from the world and attach yourself to the Lord. 15) Give up all and you gain all radhakutir ****************************************************************************** Know the Lord to be the only real thing in the midst of things unreal. Guest guest
dear shiv bhakt sophia om namo bhagawate rudraya there is a wrong notion by few people that the sages and saints who used deer or tiger skin used to kill these animlas for getting these skins. in a jungle, the soft animal deer is the easiest pray for any wild animal. so these deers used to take refuge at the sage's ashram and the sages used to protect them and nourish them. after the deers die naturally, their skins were cleansed and are used for the japam and tapam. they also used the kasturi, a fragrant product taken out from the deer to mix in the ashtagandha for making yantras. there were instances where tigers were also tamed. in that process tiger skins were available after thier natural death. lord shiva wears a tiger skin and goddess shakti (sherawali) rides a tiger. you are right in your saying that one shall not kill an animal to get its skin for use which is against the principle "ahimsa paramo dharma". few years ago a member in the group pointed out that sita was at fault for asking lord rama to kill the deer she liked and rama was at fault for trying to kill that deer. for such people i advised that kings are "licenced to kill" their enemies. they used to hunt animlas so that they hone thier fighting skills and are prepared to protect thier kingdoms. lord rama was a king. in praise of lord shiva and with best wishes arjun , anne thakur <annethakur wrote: > > i am sophia dalle in nyc. i don tunderstand why we are > supposes to kill animals as such in the deer sand > tiger skin. i thought ahimsa is the first > principle.this upsets me > sophia dalle > > --- wrote: > > > ------------------------ Sponsor > > --------------------~--> > > Join modern day disciples reach the disfigured and > > poor with hope and healing > > > http://us.click./lMct6A/Vp3LAA/i1hLAA/CSdplB/TM > > > - -~-> > > > > > > There are 25 messages in this issue. > > > > Topics in this digest: > > > > 1.
