Guest guest
Jaya Sri Radhey! Namaste. Here is a 'pada' from 'Viraha Madhuri' (Love in Separation) 'Prema Rasa Madira' (Wine of Divine Love) by Sri Kripaluji Maharaj. "Yashodaji apne laala ke viyog se ek pathik se srikrishn ke liye sandesha bejthi hai.." Mother Yashoda sends a message for her darling Son at Mathura, Lord Krishna, through a trusted messenger. "pathika tum, itano kahiyo jaaya" O dear kind traveler! Please tell my sweet little Boy, laala, just this much at least!! The message is as follows: "aba na kabahun kachu kahahun laala som, eka baar aajaaya," "My dearest Child, laala, Kindly please come home once to see me, just once, is all I ask! In case, during your visit here, if there is something that upsets you, you are free to go back immediately." "Ukhala maahin na kabahun baandhihaum, kitai urahano aaya," She assures him now that here after she will never discipline him for his naughty pranks nor bind him to the heavy household mortar to stop his mischief no matter what the envious Gopis have to complain this time! "maakhana-corI te na rokihaum, kare joyi mana bhaaya," She promises that she will not do those mistakes of hurting her laala again. She says she will also not stop him from stealing butter and he can do as he pleases and spend his time as he wants to. She will place no demands nor restictions on him as before. "jo kovu braja me kaanhahim cheDe, vaako davoom bandhaaya," Even if anyone bothers her dearmost child or teases him in Vrindavan she will chase them away or restrain them all so that they don't come in his way. "moko maaya na maane tabahum, naato maane dhaaya," She finally pleads him to visit her if not as his real mother but at least on the grounds of visiting a good old nurse, or a foster mother or even as his childhood pet cow that provided him milk for his nourishment and helped him grow since his birth in Gokula. "imi 'kripalu' kahi yazumati bilapai, dRga ansuvana jhari laaya" In the concluding verse, Sri Kripaluji Maharaj reminds us that while sending this message of Divine Love, Mother Yashodaji was completlely soaked in the streams of tears of maternal longing and overwhelmed by the divine emotions of parental love, Vatsalya Prema Rasa. These precious words of the great Rasik Saint pulls the devotees too into tears of divine joy, churning the irresistable feelings in their hearts for their Sweet little Lord. ----------- This song of Kripaluji Maharaj from 'Viraha Madhuri of Prema Rasa Madira' was sung in sweet devotional voice by the Indian vocal artist Srimati Lakshmi Shankar.
