Guest guest
Thank you so much Uma for remembering and calling on others to do the same. I pray we not lose sight of what is important, and that we always remember how these events effected us....one and all. Much love, Erica --- Uma <tatwamasi wrote: > In rememberance of Sep 11, and the tragedies that > are being faced by > innocent victims all over the world, I call on > members to join me in > prayers. > > Aum bhadram karnebhuhi srunuyaama devaah > Bhadram Pasyemaakibhiryajatraah > Stirairangaistuhtuvaamsatanubhirvyasema > Devahitam Yadaayuh > > Avasti na Indro Vridhaasravaahaah > Svasti nah pusha visvavedaah > Svasti nastaarkshyo arishtanemihi > Svasti no Brihaspatirdadhatu > > Aum Shantihi Shantihi Shantihi > > > O ye Deities, may we hear with our ears always what > is auspicious, o > worshipful ones, may we with our eyes see what is > auspicious. Guest guest
Recently I had the honor of being invited to participate in a multifaith prayer vigil which began on Sep 10 and ended on the night of Sep 11. I was representing Hindu prayers for the occasion, where I got to participate and hear prayers from many other traditions. A Native American song writer, singer and flute/guitar player sang several of his songs. I want to share one of them with you all. " I'm praying for everybody in this world" Chorus - I'm praying for everybody in this world I'm praying we can all live in harmony Im praying for everybody in this world cause we're all leaves on the same family tree. We're all living here on the same Mother earth We've all got the same Father in the sky so we are all sisters and brothers and one day we'll all return to the light. (Chorus) We're many different colors we speak many different tongues but here we are together warmed by the same sun, there's so much difference but when it's said and done, we're six billion people but reallly ONE. (Chorus). ---- 2002 copyright - David Walton The comment that was made after I said the sanskrit prayers was most revealing. "What is it about your (sanskrit) language and your prayers, that emitted such powerful energy in the church hall?" It stunned everyone into a silence where no one could speak for a long time. post 4334 safar_x wrote: > I signin and join all in the prayer(cant refrain myself including > Hiroshima and Nagasaki/ Laos/Vietman victims). Yes, satish, my prayers are for all the victims of such unecessary activites, war included. In fact, when I was watching the replay of the Sep 11 again and again on TV, I couldn't help seeing the faces of the millions who died in the Hiroshima/ Nagasaki bombing, where the innocent people must have been just as stunned and panic stricken, or the hundreds of thousands of people in J& K and the other terrorisism effected countries in the world. The difference is media wasn't there!! I think often, people, all over the world, seem to die so readily for "religion" and their beliefs; I wonder how many are ready to live it!!!! I'm surprised and saddened at how few members chose to share their thoughts and prayers on this very poignant occasion. _/\_ Tat Twam Asi Uma
Guest guest
Uma, When so much self sacrifices, genoscides and human-bombs can be ready, no wonder a few amongst thousads sacrifice their lives, comforts to make other happy. In all ages, second catagory human beings had been just a few dozen in number in compared to thousads of the first catagory. (It may be born in mind that the proportion of god and bad, had more or less had been the same though ancient ages. Today it is "Terorists", yesterday it was "Jehadis" and day before yesterday "crusaders" and so on. Only a dozan Good people balance thousands of Bads. This is how Divine plays. Nothing to weep about, nothing to cheer, just live to love and love to live. The keyword is LOVE.Since it is inherent in all, hence no is needed, just pour your inside out for the benefit of others. "Tumhare(my beloved God) bin hamara din, na guzra hai na guzje ga; Gaye din beet kitne varsh yug par ye aadmi na sudhra hai na sudhre ga" -- safarchand Love, Satish
