Namaskar,

It is said, the Self Realizes the Self by its-Self.

This is called out nicely in the Mundakopanishad ( also known as

the 'vow of the head'). Mundaka is 'the shaving' and is

directed to the sanyas for knowledge of Para-vidya.  This is of

interest as the great householder Saunaka, asks

questions to Angiras - he asks " what is that which being known, all

this, the entire phenomenon, experienced through

The mind and senses, becomes known?"  this is the crux of this

wonderful Upanishad.

Rishi Angiras informs " This Atman cannot be obtained by much study

of the Ved or intelligence or much learning. He whom the SELF

chooses, by him the SELF can be gained. To him this Atman reveals

Its true nature." [Mundakopanishad 3.2.6]

Rishi Angiras points out that once the knots in the heart ( moola-

advida) are broken,  He how is both high and low is beheld

, this is Brahman without stain and with out parts. [Mundakopanishad

2.2.8 & 9]

This alone is great insight for one to move forward, yet why does

the SELF need to realize itSELF?   Because the SELF is unknowable,

not because

It is unknown, but because it is the source of knowing. It is not an

object per se that one inspects, because the SELF is the pure

consciousness

of the inspection, it is the knower, the object of knowing and the

perception to know, all at the same time. It's the ONEness e.g. non-

dual.

If non-dual ( the glory of Vedanta) then what is there to inspect?

This is the brilliance of not only Rishi Angiras, but can be found

in Rishi Yajnavalkya's

instruction also , to his wife Maitreyi ( Brihadaranyaka Upanishad)

and Swami Sivanananda's commentary on Maitreyi-Brahmana.

We (I myself) as sisya, mumuksha and sadhaka must not forget this

knowledge… I am always open to Upadesha or spiritual instruction to

allow the Realization to occur. I am also open to help from this

group. We in this group may want to entertain more of these ideas on

how we can advance Our 'preparedness' for the SELF.  I Have found

that the brilliance of the Upanishads lay the understanding  and

insights , as we are fortunate To have maharshi's that care about

ones development, come before us.

I am open to new ideas and thoughts and practices to resonate and

stir the SELF within;  May Sanantkumara, the Divine Sage, provide

the path to remove  all the knots of ignorance from us all…  [bhuma

Vidya of the Channdogya Upanishad]

Aham Brahmasmi , (Br.U. 1.4.10).

Pranams,
