Guest guest
An extraordinary loss to Ancient Near East studies, in general, and to iran studies in particular. Her works will stand testimoy to the magnificent contributions she has made in unraveling the zoroastrian faith. May her memory be a beacon light for all researches related to ANE studies. I have personally benefited a lot from her work in establishing the concordance between Rigveda and Avesta. I feel that I have lost a great friend. http://tinyurl.com/h3yqd http://www.mehrnews.ir/en/NewsDetail.aspx?NewsID=308701
Guest guest
I didn't know about her. But from the article it seems she was instrumental in clearing up the image of the Zoroastrian faith among westerners. It's good that they have people like her. That she thought the real Zorastians in Iran and India should interpret the faith better than western scholars, is the type of person we need for Hinduism. But what did she say about Rigveda and Avesta? For Hinduism, we have a few western authors who give an accurate image of Hinduism, like Davis Frawley but we have more anti-Hindu scholars who misinterpret Hindu texts like Wendy Doniger.
