Guest guest
Hi gang. I am told that the Mahabharata's familiar phrase sukRtaalMlokaan (sorry for the inevitably hideous transliteration but people will remember that it is supposed to represent double l with anusvara over the first), whose sandhi would lead one to dissolve it into sukRtaan lokaan, actually represents an unconventional sandhi for sukRtaam lokaan that has been left in this odd form by the editors of modern printed editions including the critical edition. Is this understanding of the phrase and its history generally accepted by sanskritists? Phillip Ernest
