The usual best place to start for such things is the New Catalogus Catalogorum

: An Alphabetical list of Sanskrit and Allied Works and Authors (Madras:

University of Madras, 1949- (14 vols. ptd so far). This is a union catalog of

Sanskrit works whether printed or in ms. I find nothing under

Patanjalisatanama or Patanjalyastottarasatanama or anything similar for

*sahasranama. However, there is a Patanjalistotra with several variants of the

title on p. 91 of v. 11. Among the variants is Patanjalyastaka,

Sivapancacamarastotra and Sadasivastaka. Could perhaps a confused rumor of this

come to you, and the mention of "8" in the title been misunderstood? The NCC

says this hymn is not TO Patanjali but ascribed to him, and is addressed to

(Sada-)Siva. The NCC says it has been printed in the Brhatstotraratnakara in

Telugu script and in Stotrarnava. My library has several books of the first

title. Unfortunately the catalog records are older and don't mention what the

script is, just the language. But I will check them on the shelves. We do not

have any edition of the second title.

I have a vague notion that V. S. Raghavan may have done an article on Satanamas

and/or Sahasranamas. Perhaps someone may remember it.

Where can I find the text of the 108 names of Patanjali? What is the

historical source of the document?

Thanks.

Last month one scholar mentioned that the 15th vol. had come out. But I have

not seen it myself.
