Since am not a scholar I cannot say much, but all of you may have some comments to offer. Guest guest Posted July 12, 2005 Report Share Posted July 12, 2005 Dear Mr. Jain and Sangeeta: Panini's Sutra have nothing whatsoever to do with Algebra. The plus sign indicated phoneme changes. For example, if somebody is discussing for English the usage in Modern American English 'gotcha' he can indicate it as 'got + you' = gotcha. Thats whats exactly happening in the case you had seen. But that is phoneme fusion, elision etc not 2 +2 = 4. Thanks.
