When "nityam" is mentioned, the question of option does not arise.

 

As per kAshikA, "pluta-pragRhyA aci"(6.1.125):

 

plutAshca pragRhyAshcAci prakRtyA bhavanti. devadatta3 atra nvasi.

yajJadatta3 idamAnaya. ...........nityagrahaNamihAnuvartate. plutapragRhyANAM

nityamayameva prakRtibhaavo yathaa syAt....

Is 'pluta-pragrhya aci nityam' a blocking rule or an optional rule.

 

If it is a blocking rule then a3 + a should be 'a3 a' that is prakruti bhava.

 

or should it be 'A'( dirgha a-kaara) according to akaH savarNe dIrghaH ?

Hi Chetan,

How are you ? How is your study going ? In 'pluta-pragrhya aci

nityam' Sutra according to balmanorama - sandhayo na bhavanti,So a3 + a = a3 + a

which is prakruti bhava are used, If Panini rule no 6.1.127 and 6.1.128 is not

working on that place.
