Guest guest
Dear Sirs, In 2004, I financially sponsored the project of the edition of the Taittiriya-Brahmana and other Yajurveda texts with a large sum of money. See here http://www.sanskritweb.net/yajurveda In 2005, I intend to finance the smaller project of literally translating the Dhammapada from Pali into Sanskrit. This project is described here http://www.sanskritweb.net/project.pdf Those familiar with Pali and Sanskrit and interested in this salaried project are requested to contact me at my German email address shown on my website here http://www.sanskritweb.net/imprint.htm Kind regards, Ulrich Stiehl, Heidelberg (Germany)
Guest guest
Dear Sirs, Much to my regret, I had to cancel this project, which was also announced at the Pali . It seems that nobody is interested in a translation of the Dhammapada into Sanskrit. Therefore it does not make much sense to financially support a project which is of no interest to Hindus and Buddhists who seem to live in entirely different worlds. In Germany, Sanskritists often also learn Pali, at a rough guess, one out of ten German Sanskritists. But how many Indian Sanskritists learn Pali? One out of hundred Indian Sanskritists? One out of thousand?
