I believe you are right. In my translations from the Mbh I often use in

similar constructions Polish phrases equivalent to English "begun to + Verb

Infintive", or "started to + Verb Infintive".

That's very interesting. Incidentally, are you making a complete translation

into that language? Pardon me if this has been mentioned before, but I

do not recall that it has.

No, just Paushya, Pauloma and Astika Parvans of the Adi. Nothing published

- so far. But used (and many times corrected) during my Sanskrit classes in

the last ten or so years.

 

But I watch the development of the Russian translation. Which is nearing

its completion - if not in this then perhaps in a couple of next years.
