Guest guest
Dear list members, Can anyone give me some specific citations in the sanskrit literature where the word sAdhana is used to mean "religious practice" or "the effort one makes to reach a religious goal". In the western literature I've seen it used that way as early as John Woodroffe's writings but I've been told that in the sanskrit literature it only means effort to reach a goal and doesn't have a particularly religious connotation. Many thanks, Harry Harry Spier 371 Brickman Rd. Hurleyville, New York USA 12747
