Guest guest
Dr. Hrishikesh is a surgeon in UK, also a numismatics enthusiast, who happened to see this seal 6" square with a jeweller in Ujjain. He reported about this find on IndiaArchaeology and IndianCivilization lists. The three peaks glyph which is one of the three glyphs of this Ujjain jeweller's seal also occurs as a glyph on top line of Sohgaura copper plate (with remaining lines as Brahmi inscription), together with two glyphs of two ku_t.a_gha_ra mentioned in the Brahmi inscription. The Sohgaura copper plate thus constitutes the Rosetta stone for decoding Sarasvati hieroglyphs. The photographs are attached. This continuing tradition of Sarasvati hieroglyphs helps validate decoding hieroglyphs of the so-called Pas'upati seal as the inventory of a mint or smithy. An explanatory note is mirrored at http://spaces.msn.com/members/sarasvati97 The entry is titled: Dr. Hrishikesh Shenoy's discovery of an Ujjain Jeweller's Seal The album is titled: Ujjain Jeweller's 6" sq. seal with Sarasvati hieroglyphs. Thanks, Dr. Hrishikesh Shenoy for the historic discovery. Dhanyavaadah. Kalyanaraman
