Guest guest
Dear Friends, Those of you who live in Delhi or have friends in Delhi who would be interested in the subject are cordially invited to my two lectures. This is a long series that I am planning to do on the three artha and kama connected shastras of India, namely the Natyashastra, Kamashastra and Arthashastra, which talk about the material goals of Hindu life in its classical perception. There has been a concentration on the spiritual/paarmaarthic nature of Hindu civilization but not analysis of so much of the vaste importance of its mundane pursuits as balanced cultured goals. Kindly join in large numbers so that the Habitat centre is encouraged to arrange for the rest of the series sooner than later. ************************************* Habitat World Natyashastra : Heritage and Future By Bharat Gupt Theatre theorist and Cultural Analyst will give an account of the methodology of study and transmission of the Natyashastra and the Indian shastras in general. He will suggest present day methods for the study of the text and performance of plays in modern times. April 15 & 16 Casuarina Hall 6:30 pm Habitat Centre , Lodi Road , New Delhi ******************************************************************** Bharat Gupt Associate Professor, CVS, Delhi University, Founder member and Trustee International Forum for India's Heritage.
