Guest guest
Many thanks to R. Balakrishnan and S. Palaniappan for their suggestions and efforts. I would have responded earlier except that I came down with the flu for almost a week (quite recovered now). I talked to the patron today and the American agency has not been able to contact their Indian counterparts, but are hopeful on the grounds that they haven't heard any bad news from them. I do not find any orphanages and schools in Sholampettai (or any similar spelling) in the listing for the diocese of Thanjavur in the extremely thorough Indian Christian Directory, but I do notice from the Tamil Nadu state website that the loss of life has been small in Thanjavur District, so let us hope that it is this Sholampettai, as Mr. Balakrishnan suggests.
