Guest guest
Dear Mr Allen W. Thrasher, There is no village named Solempattai in Tamilnadu which forms part of the list of Census Villages or Revenue Villages. Hence, it has to be a small hamlet that doesn't normally figure in Government records of villages. There is a village called Sholagampatti in Thanjavur district which shows close resemblance. If we can know some more detail such as name of the district, or region we may zero on and gather inputs. However, I am getting in touch with the Relief Commissioner of Tamilnadu who is my counter part in Tamilnadu. I hope, we may get some info. This is for now, Regards R.Balakrishnan, Special Relief Commissioner, Orissa, India --- Allen W Thrasher <athr wrote: > A member of the public has asked for help in > locating a Catholic > orphanage in Tamil Nadu where she sponsors a boy. > She is very concerned > to know if he has been injured or killed by the > tsunami. Guest guest
Dear Mr Allen W Thrasher, There is a village called Sholampettai. It is possible that Sholampettai is mispelt as Solempattai. Thanjavur is about 300 KM away from Chennai as you are aware. However, I am trying to ascertain as to whether any village called Solempattai or Sholampettai got Tsunamied. Regards, Balakrishnan --- Allen W Thrasher <athr wrote: > A member of the public has asked for help in > locating a Catholic > orphanage in Tamil Nadu where she sponsors a boy. > She is very concerned > to know if he has been injured or killed by the > tsunami.
