I am interested in the question of when writing may have entered the Bharata's process of composition. It will be nice if Bonazzoli's articles are in Italian. >-- Messaggio originale -- >INDOLOGY >"Carlos Lopez" <carloslopez >Mon, 15 Nov 2004 19:37:16 -0000 >[Y-Indology] Re: bardology of the Bharata >INDOLOGY >Phillip > >You might take a look Mary Caroll Smith's The Warrior Code in India's >Sacred Song (Garland Publishing, New York& London, 1992), a study of >the trishtubh verses of the Mahabharata. I read what I guess must be the first form of this book, a memeographed MA thesis from the early seventies, back in Toronto, and we have the same edition here, which I recently began to reread, but found in my browsing nothing but highly technical metrical information which was not useful to me at the moment. But no doubt she had much more to say twenty years later. I am sure I can find this later edition here too. Thank you. Phillip
