Dear list members,

In the Dharma Sindhu there is the sentence:

meSe sUryasaMkrAntau prAgUrdhvaM paJcadazapaJcadazaghaTikAH puNyakAlaH |

"The auspicious time is 15 ghatikas before and after the Mesha Samkranti."

Can that type of construction " prAgUrdhvaM paJcadazapaJcadaza. . . " be

used if the two numbers are different.

I.e. can you also write something like: prAgUrdhvaM paJcadazaSoDaza . .

..(15 before and 16 after . . .)

or do the two numbers have to be the same in this type of construction.

Thanks,

Harry
