Guest guest
Dearest friends and colleagues, I am eagerly looking for a text in Flemish, the Seven Step of Love of Beatrice of Nazareth, very useful for a comparative research of mine concerning Indian and Western mysticism. Can gently someone help me? Yours, Daniela Rossella ***************************************************** Ph.D. Dr. Daniela Rossella Piazza Buzzati, 5 43100 PARMA (Italy) tel. & fax +39.0521.773854 cell. +39.338 3198904 ghezziem *****************************************************
Guest guest
Dear Daniela, Have a look at the Library of Congress online catalog <catalog.loc.gov>, searching under "Beatrijs, van Tienen." "Seven manieren van minne" was published by the Belgian publisher Pelckmans in 1992. I can't seem to find it in Pelckman's online catalog <www.pelckmans.be>, but the firm's email address is <uitgeverij. Another ed. (2002) was published by Ten Have in Baarn, for whom I can't find a website. According to Amazon.de offers a German translation, "Von sieben Weisen heiliger Minne." According to Amazon.com (US), the anthology "Beguine Spirituality" listed under Beatrijs in the catalog is out of print. Still, I have paged our copy to see how much of "Seven ways" is translated in it. You could search for out of print copies of any of the titles listed on <www.addall.com>, which many find the most exhaustive online book search service. I think these anthologies of translations of medieval female mystics often have a pretty good distribution and there may well me numerous secondhand copies floating about. NB the 1926 ed. includes a Latin translation. Perhaps some of our Belgian or Dutch colleagues could tell us if there is an equivalent of Amazon.com for Flemish or Dutch publications. Allen Allen W. Guest guest
Daniela, I checked the "Beguine Spirituality" volume and the translations are all from the "Sieben Weisen." However, there were only about 10 pages of them, and they were of scattered passages, each only a few sentences. I think it would be of practically no help to you. Allen Allen W. Guest guest
Dear Daniela, My email address is still the same, <athr. It is possible that LC has had a spam attack from someplace in the "domain" of your address (tin.it) and has temporarily refused all mail from it. This happens with even very large commercial domains. We are part of the Congressional email service and are under constant e-attack by hackers and by hostile and friendly foreign governments which want to read Congress's internal email. You can fax me at the fax number below. I join Daniela in apologies for using the list for a semi-private response. Allen Allen W.
