Guest guest
I'm writing a thesis on kundalini, and I need to find a translated tantra (or another work) to focus on. I know there are several good translations, such as the non-dualistic Saivite works Padoux' relies on in his book 'Vac', and the translated Sat- chakra-nirupana and Panduka-panchaka texts, explained in Woodroffes 'The Serpent Power'. Also, the Sarada-tilaka-tantram is much used in 'The Serpent Power'. I feel that these works have been worked with so much already, but I suppose that's the case with all texts translated fully into english. I've come across some articles on the internet, written by a Dr. David Frawley at the American Institute of Vedic Studies, based on the works of Sri Ramanasramam. I don't know if this man is an indologist, or if he's more of a religious man writing with an agenda. Anyway, these articles are particularily interesting for me, since they deal with the interpretation of the Vedic gods, and their relation to the awakening of the kundalini energy in man. I haven't bought any litterature written by Frawley yet, but will do so, and see if he provides any interesting references. If his interpretations are correct, or rather respected, it proves that the Vedic gods represent energies in man, and in fact revolves around the awakening of kundalini. I haven't seen or read this interpretation anywhere else, not in works by indologists or well known academics. What I'm really looking for is a Sakta-tantric (or a Saiva) work, translated into english, with commentaries. Preferably something where the commentaries contain references to, and tantric interpretations of the Vedas, like the ones by Frawley. It would have to be a text with a good translation by a serious scholar. Any help and recommendations are welcome. Thanks in advance, Fred M.
