This is a "net-yield." Dear J.K. Mohana Rao, Yes, Allen Thrasher and I took Phillip's question rather differently. The multivolume collection of laukika-nyaayas that L. Sternbach put together is an impressive resource. However, a complete concordance of every simile, every metaphor ever used in Sanskrit literature would *really* be an impressive and useful tool. So, the three examples you cite would certianly find a place in a multivolume concordance. The more I think about this project the more I'm wondering how it could best be undertaken. Some pretty impressive on-line collaborations have taken place for electronic lexicons. Could these projects show the way? Are the available e-texts worth using to make a start? Can part of such a search be automated by searching for words or constructions typically used in similes? best, Tim Cahill
