Kavi, smith

Soma is kavi. es.a somo ra_ja_, says Cha_ndogya Upanis.ad.

The Vedic term, kavi – and concordant terms in Avestan -- can be

explained in semantics, as a poet, as a smith, as a king.

kratuvid, vipra, vis'vavid connoting a similar idea...Kavi-s in the

The kavi or the smith becomes the political leader as exemplified by

the Kayanians (or Kayanides) of the Avestan tradition.
