Guest guest
Namaste friends, Thanks to the experts who have helped me so far. Here is a new question: In verse 73 of the Guru Gita is the compound aneka-janma-sampraapta-sarva-karma-vidaahine see http://www.pranakasha.com/guru_gita/verses_67-x.shtml Vidaahine is not to be found in Apte but is translated in my chanting book as "who burns". I'm assuming this is a variation of vi + daa.h put into an alternate declension. However I would expect vi to change the meaning to "lack of burning", "taking away the burning of", etc. Within the verse, a sensible translation is "Who burns all the karmas obtained from countless births", however I am not yet convinced that this is correct.
