Guest guest
Dear Indologists and Friends of Indology, On behalf of many who have only cursory interest in Indian Studies, I wish to express gratitude and thanks to all in this group who study Indology as a science and who have made contributions to make our knowledge a little richer in understanding India's history and culture. While the field is in its infancy and large areas of ignorance shroud over artefacts and cultural connections, we have somewhat succeedeed in understanding the spirit of the early man and his/her desire to communicate through gestures and voice. The cosmology of the man mapped to the cosmology of the universe though obvious speculations has been the message of India. Studies on the origin and development of such speculations become the theme of Indology for the century. On behalf of Department of Sanskrit and Indian Studies at Harvard, we host a monthly outreach lecture to promote research and create awareness among the faculty, students and public. If any of you are around in Boston area and can speak on topics of interest, you may contact me at the email above. We also run a volunteer Sanskrit Table every Tuesday at 6 PM for people to speak and learn Sanskrit. I with a few friends run a Sanskrit grammar class at the local Temple in Ashland every Sunday afternoon. I invite you to join us in any of these events if you are in the area. I wish a very Happy and Healthy New year to each of you and to your field of interest. Sincerely, Bijoy Misra Convener, Outreach Committee Harvard University Physicist/Consultant, MIT Lincoln Laboratory.
